I simply can't choose between I and IV. It would come down to a coin flip, and that level of art deserves better.

Physical Graffiti - Best of a great group of albums. Very hard to choose. LZ 2 and LZ 3 got me through a few tough times in college.

Dyer Maker the best song of Led Zeppelin

Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You don't have to go, oh oh oh oh
You don't have to go, oh oh oh oh
You don't have to go

I I I I I I
All those tears I cry, I I I I
All those tears I cry, oh oh, I I
Baby, please don't go

When I read the letter you wrote me
it made me mad mad mad
When I read the words that it told me
It made me sad sad sad
But I still love you so
I can't let you go
I love you
Ooh baby I love you

Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Every breath I take, oh oh oh oh
Oh, every move I make
Oh baby please, don't go

I I I I I I
You hurt me to my soul, oh oh oh oh
You hurt me to my soul, oh oh-hoh
Darling please don't go

When I read the letter you sent me
It made me mad mad mad
When I read the news that it brought me
It made me sad sad sad
But I still love you so
And I can't let you go
I love you
Ooh baby, I love you

(Guitar Solo)

Oh oh oh oh oh oh
You don't have to go, oh oh oh oh
You don't have to go, oh oh oh oh
Oh, baby, babe, please, please, please, please

Oh oh, oh oh, oh oh, baby
Oh oh I really love you baby
Ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh, darlin'
Oh oh
Oh baby, I still love you so
Oh baby, I still love you so
Oh oooh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh, yeah
Ah ah ah ah ah ah, ohhh
Ah ah ah ah ah
Oooooh, yeah
Ah, baby baby

My favorites are I and III. One of my first dates when I actually had a car to drive was with a prissy chick. We went out to the airport, supposedly to "watch the planes". I put in LZ I, an 8-track at that, and cranked it up. It went downhill from there and within 20 minutes, I had her back at her door. You either got it, or you don't! Musta been a Communications Breakdown! Since I've been Loving You, from III is in my top 5 favorites of all time. Rick, n5xm

Its a tough choice between Houses of the Holy and Physical Grafitti, although the only two Led Zeppelin albums I never owned was, In through the out door, and CODA. I just never cared quite as much for those two . Zeppelin One - Four Rocks! and, are awesome albums. Presence is awesome too, I remember the year my Mom and Dad bought me that for Christmas.

Led Zeppelin was BIG, almost everything they did was superb, Jimmy Page owned the guitar, Robert Plant's vocals were breathtaking, John Bonham's drumming was intense, and John Paul Jones bass was superb. One of the biggest and best Rock and Roll bands in the world, right there with Pink Floyd!

LOL, that was your problem, Physical Grafitti side 4 would have been the perfect rhythm.;) It worked for me!

I saw Prince perform in Minneapolis waaaaaaay back in 1982 or so to a crowd of maybe 400 people at First Avenue nightclub. Some Bozo shouts "Freebird" between songs & Prince rips thru 40 seconds of a spot on version of the Skynyrd moldy oldie hippie classic.

I always like Prince. Even the film "Purple Rain" was damned good, entertaining and well directed.

He was a headliner at one of the big Vegas hotels here about two years ago (maybe the Rio, I forgot) and his performances were always sold out. I actually went to buy a ticket, but couldn't -- sold out.

The shrimp still has a lot of fans!

Not everyone gets into anything, but I have to admit the Zepp were very talented.

Then again, so are Celtic Woman and so are Continuum Jazzile. And lots of other people who have dedicated their lives to entertain others.

It's not all fun and games, these people are making a living entertaining others and I appreciate their talent.

Oh by all means I am not taking anything away from a great band. Maybe it was the crowd I ran around with in the 70-80s. I respect the talent of all the members of the band and now that I think about I like the song Moby Dick. IN reality I am a Rush fan and not everyone is fond of their music either.

Well, heck, Charley... what SHOULD I yell out when the L.S. Band screams "What song is it you want to hear?" Ave Maria:eek:?

Guilty! I AM ALSO THE (ONE?) GUY YELLING "FREEBURD" [sic] too.

I'll just move along now <"Livin' Loving Maid" droning on in background>.

My mileage does differ:) and MY vote would be for all of 'em. EPIC band. Plant & Page, whew doggie! Rock-on.

BTW, many don't know that Led Zeppelin was a direct descendant of the Yardbirds. Their original name was The New Yardbirds. Since the Yardbirds had never taken off in the US, they decided to change their name. Keith Moon, the Who's drummer once said if they formed a band together they'd take off like a lead balloon.. and that's how Led Zeppelin got their name.
:D

Hi there Dane. Well, the story as it goes in the autobiographies, (possibly the most reliable source), is that the name came from the fact that jimmy actually proposed to keith moon to be the drummer of led zeppelin (of course not called that at the time.) However, Moon was happy in the who and told jimmy that he thought the idea would go over "like a lead balloon". Wel, jimmy loved it and after changing the spelling to led (to avoid mis-prounounciation) they changed from the new yardbirds to led zeppelin.

The New Yardbirds = Led Zeppelin (http://en.allexperts.com/q/Led-Zeppelin-501/Name-origin.htm)

I had to click in the middle some place cause I couldn't decide, it's just to difficult to choose.
Kind of like fleetwood mac before they went pop I think Bare Trees was good but Pious Bird of Good Omen was fantastic.
Allman Brothers before Duane died and then the anthology albums.

prince, or, the artist formerly known as prince (which is it?) is actually a very accomplished guitarist. he came to buffalo in the 80's and on one set, just sat down with his guitar and soloed for 15 mins straight. i don't like his music but can respect his skills.

I really am sorry we lost him to stupid damned drugs before he even peaked. I never messed with drugs and in the for what its worth seeing him pi** away his talent convinced me of how stupid drug use was. What a waste. Jimi could get more out of a guitar than anyone before or since including Clapton or Santana.
