The subject for this week's "Technology Net" is Understanding and working the Amateur Satellites, presented by Ron Nutter, KA4KYI.

Being the AMSAT Area Coordinator for Missouri, Ron will introduce you to all the AMSAT Satellites as well as the many Satellites launched by other groups around the world. Having made contacts himself to all states in the Continental U.S. he’ll explain every combination of equipment to work the birds from handheld to mobile to fixed location. He’ll explain how and what you’ll need to get into one of the most exciting forms of Amateur Radio.

If you go to our website you will see all the “Technology Net” presentations. If you click on the top listing you will be going to Ron’s website with many pages of information to support his presentation. There will be a question and answer period at the end of his presentation for you to ask any questions you have. We’ll also be posting a recorded version of his presentation on our website afterwards, for anyone that misses it.

I would like to participate, but don't have any Echolink or IRLP software installed. If it would be possible in a near futur to support D-Star, it would be great.

VA2VYZ,

You can download the echolink software at:

http://www.echolink.org/

And you might have some who have a local echolink in your area that is either a simplex or repeater node. With every problem there is at least one or more solutions avaliable. If you need any further assistance contact me directly as my e-mail address is listed in my bio. 73 for now.

There are no such things as problems, only opertunities.

It doesnt take long to install echolink, itjust takes a little bit to get your callsign varified. if you do it with a debit/credit card, it cost one dollar and is almost instant.
