Oliver, W7WWS was my "Elmer"..... #He may not have ever realized it, but it was those family vacations out to Hamilton, Montana back in the early 60's that "sparked" my interest in Ham Radio. Oliver had one entire wall in his living room filled with some kind of an air cooled "monster" that he used to sit down in front of and talk to all sorts of different people, and as a youngster, I was completely fascinated by it all. I was so intrigued and inspired by his hobby that I had to become involved with it, and have been ever since. It was Olivers hobby that led me into a career in electronics with the US Navy, (airborn communications and navigation) and now that I am retired from active duty and fully involved in ham radio, I think back to how it all got started- the only person I can think of was Oly, because of the time that Oliver Johnson took to answer my inundation of questions about ham radio. Thank You Oly, you will be missed by many, but now you will have all eternity in Heaven to QSO with my Mom and Dad, just like on those hot, dusty summer days back in when life was much less complicated. 73's Oly ..._._ # # #_.. .
