My dear brother Bob K0GWK passed away November 23rd, 2002 due to pancreatic cancer. #He was licensed in 1955 at 14 yrs old and became an Extra Class a few years ago. #He attained his First Class Radiotelephone License at 18.
He was born and raised in Nebraska City, NE and worked at various radio stations in NE & IA as a broadcast engineer. #He moved to CA and worked in the audio/video industry and spent the last 20 yrs as a sound engineer at Universal Studios in Hollywood. #
I always looked forward to seeing and talking to him because he always had some new radio or antenna project in the works or a new piece of gear. #Even in his final days, he spoke of getting a new antenna put up...
He kept his illness a secret because he didn't want pity or to worry any of us. #His family and ham radio was his whole life and I'm sure he'll be missed by those who knew him in the Los Angeles CA area. #
