At a recent flea market I purchased a VHF amplifier made by VHF Engineering of Binghamton, NY the model # is PA4010H with a serial # of

Any information on this item would be great such as, does it work on 1.25 meters as well as 2 meters? the power in to power out ratio? and the current draw? Any advice from anyone who has expieriene with this item would be greatly appriceated.

No, absolutely not. It's a 2m amplifier only (144-148 MHz) and runs 40W output with 10W drive. It originally sold for $74.95 in 1976. I did a lot of work with VHF Engineering back then and knew everybody there, as they were local to me.

Again, it will run 40W output power with 10W RF drive on two meters. Many rigs back in the mid-70s were only 10W out, so this was a perfect "6 dB boost" for them. It draws 6 Amps at 13.8Vdc.
