I need a new battery for my VX-5R handie and was wondering if anyone has direct experience with the replacements one sees on eBay.
Prices seem to vary 3:1
I bought a couple of them for a VX2R. They were cheap, came with the charger and charger DC cord. They are very good batteries and I have had them about a year and use them all the time. They are all probably made by the same company anyway.

Yes, The cheapo batteries on Ebay work great! Here is the link for two of them plus the home/vehicle automatic charger to charge the battery out of the radio:

That is less than 15 bucks for the two batteries AND the charger, Including shipping! (Just look up NP60 for the VX 3 (Or VX 2)
Not sure just what battery will fit the VX 5, But these for the VX 2 and VX 3 are GREAT! (Batteries alone without the charger INCLUDING shipping are 5 bucks each.)
Another reason why the little micro size Yaesu VX 3 is now my favorite hand held!
