I would like to put in my 2 cents worth about the use of packet clusters. I sometimes use packet myself, I think it can be helpful during contests etc... What I find most annoying is how some people abuse packet. For instance, you find a juicy bit of DX by actually turning the dial and your waiting in the wings to make your call. Then it happens...I hear the guy tell the DX operator he is going to post him on packet. Which is fine by me but, he continues his conversation! #He talks for a couple of more minutes after he posts this rare DX on packet creating a pile-up behind him the likes that God has never seen. Now this obviously means guys like me who have been patiently waiting get mobbed. I think if your going to post someone on packet, wait a couple of minutes after your finished with your contact before you post or at least be finished with your conversation! #That way folks like myself running 100W or guys/gals with QRP can take their turn before all the packet hounds jump in. Use your packet wisely. Just my 2 cents.
