I make it an iron clad policy to not use ANY service which requires registering using MD Passport.

Sadly, there's quite a few services (Microsoft support being one of them) where it's simply required. So, I'm well known in those services under many aliases include Hugh Chardon, Seymore Butts...you get the idea.

I have a firm commitment never to use any chat room. I can get into enough hot water in the normal course of a day without adding to it. This type of forum is as close as I want to get to a chat room.

well mattbeers,,,just so you wont get your panties in a knot,,,i was at work so i didnt have access to my radios.
i thought a chat room would be nice for others also that werent able to use therir rigs at the moment,,but as usual there is always people on here that will try to beat you down at everything you try or just come back at you with a snide remark by telling me how to communicate by radio as i have been radioing probably ever since you were still crapping yellow
"Matt Beers" sez:
Here's a suggestion for you. There's another chat room service available and you need no registration at all. As long as you have a ham license, you can use it. It's called radio.
Haw!!! Okay, THAT'S pretty damn funny....
Out.

It's just amazing how so many of the generation-Xers get away with cheating their employers (stealing from) by playing on the innernet while they are supposed to be "at work". It looks like their "workplace" needs a good house-cleaning.

One little flaw in your plans, steel doesn't have a license. He takes the test on the 15th. Unless you promote illegal activity i recomend that he doesn't tx with his radios. Perhaps we should encourage our to be ham brother instead of bad mouthing him. I hope your happy, wasting my time. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif

thank you RRM,,,finally someone with a little common sense.
some of you guys really make it hard to want to become one of you in the ham world. is it really necessary to always
try to belittle someones plans even if those plans are not yours.if you dont like someone elses plans, you dont need to continually try to prove you are something better than he is by always trying to downgrade that person that you have no idea as to what he is as a person. but then again as i see people's post, some take great pride in downgrading someone else just to get a laugh from his "buddies",,very pathetic

Things are starting to get personal on this thread. COOL IT else I have to shut it down and take other action against some of the participants.

just a question Matt,,,are you one of those persons that conduct themselves properly on the air? If so,then why the snide remark about telling me how to operate a radio?do you not think it was foolish now? By the way i am taking my test next weekend on the 15th ,,to Glen,,this is in no way inflamatory to anyone,,just questions

Aw, shaddap. Matt landed a zinger on you and I gave him appropriate credit. My comment was only that he made a humorous remark. In no way was I implying anything negative about you.
But now that you mention it.... #HAW!!!
I don't know what your problem is, but you'd best chill out.
Look, chat rooms are for pimply teenie boppers and pants-around-the-ankles middle aged deviants. Which are you? Sorry, Ace, but I'm with Matt on this one. For live discussions, it's the radio for me. Deal with it.
Tain foar??
Sheesh, I'm done with you.
Out.

As far as i could tell this thread was closed as i havent responded to it since the 8th of march..Funny it all started when i invited whoever was not near their radios to join me in a chat. Anything wrong with that? I certainly didnt think so! But seems a few JERKS think it is.Stephen Scheinberg! W3sy,i certainly dont know what your problem is and i dont care, but dont try to ridicule me while you hide behind your little computer monitor and call names to someone you know absolutely nothing about.Just because you dont like a chat room dont mean others dont like it or may be the only thing at their disposal at the time.If you have a problem with me,be a man for once in your life (i've seen your pic, thats why i say be a man) instead of the little geek you are and pay me a visit,,,wanna continue? send me an e-mail instead of cluttering up QRZ with your childish nonsence. Remember, you cant be a 13yr old girl all your life.
sorry Glen,,if you wanna shut this down i dont blame you

http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif my good ness... if what above this post was let through, just IMAGINE how bad some messages are that were BANNED... did not know some of you folks were so angry http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif at each other. I shall be quiet on this forum, since it does not matter if you communicate via telephone, amateur radio, e - mail, inter net, smoke signals or hand signs ( like at a base ball game ). GOD bless all of you, and good luck in your attempts to communicate with each other. kd4amg

Heh Heh, I just loved that. It really made me chuckle and summed up the chat-room craze nicely. I enjoy most of your posts but that was a real ace !
