http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif great idea !! At least there wont be no " cb cry babies " there to interrupt the roll call or conversations before/after the initial net....SUGGESTION: one 20 meter frequency for DAY TIME and a 80 meter frequency for NIGHT time, plus some folks work schedule wont allow them to get in if we just have ONE net at ONE time...or could use a 10-meter frequency ( nah, too many truckers would interrupt )...more ideas from more folks...??? kd4amg

Well, I have a vacant Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday. Probably the contest load will be down on the bands, so I'll check out 7.030 and hang out at my usual spots between 7.200 and 7.175.
Anyone else that's going to be active, state your fequency and expected time and I'll see if I can find you.

ka8ncr standing by on 7.030 until around 0300z, then on 3.663 (old qmn habit).
Then I'll be hanging out about 7.190.
Catch me if you can.

Not to eliminate those who's licenses do not allow them to operate below 50 MHz, you might work out an arrangement with a local who operates both on VHF/UHF and HF to "patch" the audio of one's VHF/UHF FM unit onto SSB. This is perfectly legal so long as there is someone with the proper license operating the SSB unit. Such operation falls under the "third party" regulations which are the same as running a phone-patch.
This wouldn't work for CW unless the third party actually came over to the location of the person with the higher class license. Of course this assumes that the person holding the lower class license did know CW. Again, this is legal so long as there is a control operator with the proper class of license sitting there while the third party is sending.

Actually, if you use an SSB transmitter coupled to a VHF receiver receiving CW, you could generate a CW signal by "sidetone" generation. I hadn't thought of that, but again that would be legal so long as the control station identified at the end of every transmission per third party regulations.
