Due to the deficit of quality eating establishments around the office building where I work, I usually bring my lunch.

Today, it's left overs (again) with some oranges.

What's for lunch today?

Don't know yet...I have enough quality eating establishments that aren't mcdonaldsburgerkingwendys. As it is a chilly day, I might go over to McBrides and get a bowl of their Irish Stew and a scone....mmmmmmmm....

I was in Washington DC a couple summers ago and there was the Irish place that became a favorite. Can't remember the name of it, but it was either extremely busy, or vacant like an abandoned warehouse.

I found that after 1http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif0, the lunch crowd bolted and it was the ideal place for lunch.

I used to hang out at Murphy's in Alexandria. Great place.

around 230 I check out our kitchen /lunchroom, this is where all the leftovers go from client meetings (Lunches/schmoozing) etc. .... the propagation is almost always better then 10 meters currently......Today I had potato salad and corn beef wraps, tomorrow could be pizza and pasta...

Being one of those unfortunate souls condemed to labor away in the beasement, I was allowed my usual meager allotment of gruel and stale bread.

However there is a bright spot in all this... They did empty the Honey Pots and replaced them with freshly scrubbed ones.

I'm truely looking forward to next week when they allow me my annual linen change...

Is your place hiring? It would be a great improvement.

Tomorrow, I am taking N1KB in the W1RFI Deathmobile to Tinker's Seafood, a few miles away. If any of youze guys (that's Yankee for y'all) come to visit HQ, you can always talk me into a trip there for lunch! A true greasy spoon restaurant that has a lobster roll to die for!

You are so cruel.

I long for real seafood. Here in the midwest, it's hard to come by although the Real Seafood Restaurant in Ann Arbor does a fair representation of it. Plus, they do have great salads.

One of the advantages of being on the coast I imagine.

I have not had any good cajun gumbo since the early 70's in New Orleans. Just thinking about it makes the Subway Sandwich I had for lunch today seem like a bologna sandwich. How about sharing that receipe

Ken:
I have two recipes and several variations for gumbo... One was given to me by a Coonass relative who swore me to secrecy.. http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif The other one I call sissy gumbo. It's for the ones that can't take the heat.. I'll send that one to you and you can make the necessary "adjustments".. Is the e-mail addy shown on your QRZ info a good one??
