Sorry to hear of his passing. This book has meant allot to me as a new Ham and FIST. Hopefully his book will continue to serve as a "Elmer" for those of us interested in this very active mode.

Wow! #http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif #I just downloaded the document and took a quick browse. I wish I could have had some of Bill's advice when I got started back in the late 60's. Absolutely brilliant piece of work. I am so sad to have learned of this wonderful piece after his passing. I would rather have sent him a letter of praise, than an letter of condolence to his widow (which I will do).

Bill's book taught me his scientific expertise on learning Morse code, which surely contributed inproving my proficiency. RIP Bill

Mr. Pierpont will be missed, but he has left a legacy to every one of us who practice and enjoy morse. #His book covers everything that needs to be known about the acquisition and improvement of the skill. #Few of us will leave such a legacy to our hobby, and he has therefore written his own memorial.

-The greatest legacy to a great man who be to obtain Bill's book, read every page, and use his recommendations to become the best cw operator possible.
-Bill was a classical scholar, who translated ancient Greek biblical quotes and wrote a complete Greek New Testament. In addition to his aeronautical engineering work, and being a cw operator. God doesnt make many like him anymore.

A true gentleman. I downloaded his book about 2 years ago and was quite impressed with it. I e-mailed Bill to commend his work and received an immediate and courteous reply. He has left a fine legacy to the art.

For those of us who enjoy the practice of CW, Bill's tireless work and publication of information to help us all become more skilled in the proof of our practice was enormous...And his generous contribution to that end was only exceeded by his unselfish humanitarism to the world at-large...The amateur radio community has lost a most respected friend...

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Bill Pierpont N0HFF. Bill is known all over the world and was a central figure in UTF (L'Union de Télégraphistes Françaises). He was an accomplished linguist and helped many people overcome their phobias with regard to code. He is universally respected and internationally admired. We miss him greatly. I pray for his widow and the rest of his family. May he rest in eternal peace.
