I sell TS-850SAT with options: SP-31, PS-40 and HC-4. The TRX was bought from Douglas K. Taylor ( W4CY). He got the money for the TRX+Ship on 12.08.2002, but till this time I haven't get anything. I wait for offers on my e-mail, to buy it now for 1200$. Where the radio is, please ask W4CY (w4cy@aol.com ,also W4CY@Bellsouth.net), he doesn't answer my e-mails. For a real help I would pay min. 100$.

Just FYI... A few years ago I shipped a TS-520S to somewhere in Europe, can't remember exactly where. It took several *MONTHS* before the poor ham received it, and I'm sure he thought I was trying to cheat him out of his money. Truth was, I shipped a few days after receiving the funds, but Customs held the rig up for quite some time.

I did answer his emails, though... at least up to a point. When it got to be an every day occurrence and I *KNEW* I had shipped the rig it got a bit tiresome, but I can understand his concern.

They put the hood (bonnet) of an old car next to the tower base for size comparison . . .

Doesn't everyone keep car parts around for photo sessions?

Good luck with your rig. I suspect what N0XAS suggests is correct, though one might figure the guy would answer emails.

Question: What has 8 arms, 8 legs, 4 heads and 12 teeth?

Answer: That antenna crew!

So what's the deal? This guy sent his money and didn't get the rig? Sounds almost like he's SELLING a rig that he has not received yet. I'm confused. Glad someone was able to translate.

I can understand the rig getting held up in International shipping, but the dood ought to at least answer the e-mails.

Maybe General Burkholder sent W4CY to the Russian Front. Haw....

Out.

Yuri,

Sorry to hear that but sometimes it could happen. Very low chances that box is on the way so long time. I have few deptors in USA as well - total $800 fort the tubes I have sent and never received the payment... But that is the life. Take a look at that picture and try to contact someone from that crew. Also I will recommend you to find a good friend in United States who can help to buy you the gear you want. I don't know why but perhaps 95% of US guys selling amateur equipment with a note "will ship to US only" - this is the reason you need a friend. As well as I need... Searching for an IC-756 but it is very hard to get any respond from sellers when they see you are in from Middle of Nowhere...
Good luck in this situation Yuri.

Hello Remi,

I think a lot of USA hams are not familiar with the procedure for shipping items overseas, so they hesitate to do so. I'm not sure I know much about it either, except that it can be rather expensive! I know that special import taxes are sometimes involved... or something. Also, many USA hams fear that shipped items can be stolen in transit when shipped out of the USA, and don't want to deal with the potential problems arising from that.

I am very sorry to hear that you have not been paid for some items you have shipped. Most hams seem to be honest. It's always sad to hear of one who is not!

I have both bought and sold items overseas and never had a problem with shipping in either direction. I had more trouble with the nit wits at the Western Union Outlet trying to figure out how to get my bux out of their system. I sure hope you get it straightened out...Al/W8FAX
