It cost, but he won.

Signs of things to come.

It seems to be the new American way. Office goes to the highest bidder. Guess is makes sense in a capitalist society.

New American way? Definitely not. The office of the President of the United States of America has gone to the guy who has the most money to spend on campaigning since the early 19th century. The same is true for any elected office.

Turn it around, though. Were you running for office, how would you let the membership know you were running?

Let's face it, the more visibility, regardless of amount of money spent, gets your name/face in front of people.

I didn't vote. Since I don't know any of them, I don't feel qualified to vot efor any of them.

Doubt I will notice any difference...hi.

Unfortunatly you were correct in assuming that you would not have noticied a difference in the canidates, Except 9/11 changed things a little. Now we discuss going to war. Hey maybe thing would be different if Al had won. I don't know. I votet for Bush, but I do think that a reasoned debate and a knowlegible and informed voter are necessay to democracy KG4YFV http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Roy Rabey, AD5KZ, is my new Section Manager.

I figure if he wanted the job bad enough to spend money to promote himself, he deserved it.

Realized that four of the SMs elected ran unopposed, so it's not like its a desirable position.

Plus his ad money helps sponser QRZ, so we can continue these non-RF round tables.

Maybe next time someone will offer us money or new Elecraft K2s for votes...
