I use a 2200h as my 2 meter home station.I had fun with the ptt switch once, I disassembled the mic and fiddled a bit and it has been fb since.
I really enjoy the rigs audio quality and receive sensitivity. It is fun to dx NOAA wx stations with.It gets warm pretty fast, even at low power if you talk a lot.
I highly recommend it, it is a lot of bang for the buck.I use a home brew ground plane on the chimney with it and it really performs well.A much better buy than a HT in my opinion.Especially with 65 watts available!

I have had my IC 2200 for about 5 months now. I really like how it performs. No mike problems here so far. I have a J-pole up around 20 feet and can hit the mobile Al repeater with 25 watts. It 100 miles from here to there. That repeater is way up in the air. Hitting repeaters 40 to 60 miles away with 10 watts with no problems. Easy to program. :)

Couldn't be happier with miy IC-2200H. I've had mine in the shack for about 6 months now, was running it through a Ringo, but recently erected a new Diamond X50A for it, and it's really kicking out a signal now.
I replaced the stock mic with a Heil Handi Mic (HM-Ic), big improvement on the out put audio, and no worries about the PTT going south on me.
It does warm up fast, I've run as net control on a few 2 meter simplex nets pushing it at full power, it got hot but never quit running.

I also have the Yaesu FT-2800M in my Jeep, I think the Icom is built better, and it's easier to program and operate.
