I have recently purchased an IC 2340h and the mic is basically usless. The only thing I can do it talk with it. NONE of other buttons work. I am looking for the HM 56 Mic or a replacement that would be as close as possible to the 56 as far as functionality. Any suggestions? Thanks

I found this on line
I have an ICOM HM-56 microphone that I rarely use on my ICOM-229H mobile radio. Last year when I used it, everything on the mic worked just fine. However, today when I used it, I noticed an acute problem with the DTMF tones.
The microphone works just fine, albeit the audio on the DTMF tones very, very low. A friend of mine suggested that I replace the internal lithium battery, as that might correct the problem. I have not replaced the internal battery in the microphone since I first purchased the radio in late 1990.
Does anyone know what type of lithium battery the HM-56 requires? Moreover, could there be something more wrong with the mic than just the battery?
