I've got to say something about this company and their products. In 82 i bought a new 76ca three hole with the hypersil and it has performed flawlessly for all these years. I've even tried to kill it a few times but it just will not die. A buddy that owns a radio station sent me a new set of tubes and i found i didn't need them. My old ones were still at full output.
A few years ago i bought a new 89 just because i wanted another new alpha. I see lots of spin offs at hamfests now. You can go up to one of theirs and see it's insides under a sheet of plastic. They even go so far as to say they're built just like an Alpha...but do they put theirs inline for three constant days of transmitting at Dayton like Alpha does...."no way"...
So gang the proof so to speak is in the pud'n. I'm starting to look again at their new line. With two of them already and they are indestructable, why do i want another new Alpha...well because it's new.
Several years ago i ordered all the parts for the power supply board on the 76ca. I just wanted to replace everything. I'd never had any problems at all but things were ageing so i just wanted to do a rebuild. When i got the box of parts from Alpha there was a note inside that simply stated..
Compliments of Alpha power. Yeah the proof is in the pud'n.
Thanks Alpha for being there all these years and for building simply the best amplifiers in the world.
