Does anyone have a logging software that they can recommend?

I have heard that there are several that I can download for free off of the internet.

Thanks!

jLog, it's free, easy to use, and multi-platform, and will upload to LoTW and eQSL:

Well I can only tell you what I used, and what I'm very happy with. I use two programs. The first one I stated out with was. DXlab, it's also called Dxsuite. Which has a lot of nice feature to it. The second one I use is Ham Radio Deluxe. Which is a two part program the second half is DM780 for working the digital modes. I have Ham Radio Deluxe and Dxlab link together. I use (HRD) Ham Radio Deluxe to do the main logging. All info log here gets sent over the dxlab. The reason that, is its much easier to upload to LoTw with dxlab then with (HRD).
If your into contesting you way what to look and some other programs.
If you do a search on the internet you can fine the sites.
DxLab and Ham Radio Deluxe are free programs.

Just do a search for Ham Radio Software you'll fine a lot of links. Good luck.

I use DX Labsuite's DXKeeper. I'ts also the only one I've tried. It's also free.

After you play with it a bit, it's fairly simple to use. DX Labsuite also has several other programs you can download that work in conjuction with DXKeeper.

It's not the greatest for contest log keeping, if that's your thing, but since I don't do much other than look for new ones during a contest, it's not an issue for me.

Check out DXKeeper (http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxkeeper/), part of the FREE DXLab Suite (http://www.dxlabsuite.com/).

Dxlab and Dxsuite has nice feature in it. I like the Dxspot that it has. The map and DXview which give info about the stations shown on the dxspot list.
Dxlab can be use for contesting but it is not the best.

Try Ham Radio Deluxe it's also free. http://www.ham-radio-deluxe.com/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx

This one is more for contesting if that's what your looking for

Here's another but I don't think this one free you'll have to check it out. http://www.writelog.com/

And this one. Don't think this one is free either.

WinLog32 is a free logging program with many nice features that I have enjoyed using. It's available for download from the net. Just Google it.

Hi I have tried N1MM. Its more of a contesting software. It also works along with DXLab. And MMTTY if your in to the digital modes. I did not fine the software easy to work with. It take a little to learn it. Being I'm not that big into contesting i stop trying to use. I do work in some of the rtty contest but i can do all I need to with Ham Radio Deluxe and dxlab.

I just reply to another post with links to some free software sits. Take a look at those.

I use ACLog from N3FJP.

I have used ACLog and really liked it, but have recently switched to HRD. I like the Digital Master 780 for Digital work and since they interact so well together i think i will stick with it.
I find that with digital you have enough going on at the same time, so with the automatic logging via HRD/Digital Master 780 it just makes it much easier. YMMV

Thanks everyone, it looks as if there is a lot to choose from! I will have my work cut out for me just decided on which "freebie" to use...http://forums.qrz.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Let us know which one you decide on and why you like that one. That might help others of us decide on which ones to try. :)

I will try to let everyone know. Lord willing, we will be putting up our HF antenna this weekend, and will be needing/using logging software shortly there after.

I have to agree with N4KZ. Winlog32 is a very nice and free program, some programs like HRD are a little resource hungry as compared to Winlog32, so if you are not running a lot of Ram or multi-core processors, winlog would be a little easier to run for you. It's very user friendly and has all the features you will be needing, like LOTW and TrustedQSL, cluster, rig control, Winkey control.

With Winlog32 for daily logging, and N1MM for contests, you can have the best of both worlds for no cost at all!

Have fun
