The centennial of Marconi's transatlantic tests was recently celebrated near the original site of the transmissions.

A special presidential message was carried on high quality AM, and the vintage station drew quite a few passer-by curious about the revival of vacuum tube gear.

Thank you to the folks responsible for this event!
I only wish I had known it was happening, I would
have found someone with gear to listen!
The site of the station is fast disappearing and it
is events like this that will help keep the memories
alive for future generations!

Hmmmm...
the funny thing about crediting Marconi is that it wasn't Marconi who invented radio. It was Nikolai Tesla who invented it. In total, Marconi used 12 of our friend Tesla's patents. Just something to think about.
