I want to install a radio in my pickup.
Is this a good quality radio?
Other than it being 2 meters only, does it have any limitations?

It's a very good radio. The front firing speaker is a big plus. The menus are easily understood even by me!!

I have a TM-271 and have always loved it. It does have a couple of little quirks like squelch being a menu setting so not as easily accessible as you might like especially while driving. To me this isn't a huge problem. I was a bit miffed after buying one of the higher power 2m rigs out that they turn around and tell you not to run it on hi power for extended periods of time. Once again, not a deal breaker, I just don't like buying a feature just to be told not to use it.
It is a fairly rugged unit and small enough you can find somewhere for it in just about any installation. And even better it really is a good performing radio.
I bought it for the lower price and have been very happy with it. Overall I would recommend this radio if you are looking for a single band 2m radio.
