I just spent the bulk of this week in Puerto Rico. I went to Ponce, the Rain Forest, and Old and New San Juan. The Island is one of the cleanest and friendliest places that you could ever visit. The scenery, to put it bluntly, OMG. The only disappointment was that there were no monkeys in the Forest. Puerto Rico is a great value for your buck (with the exception of breakfast at the Ponce Hilton $$$$$). So if you are looking for a place to go, look at Puerto Rico. Rent a car and hit the road, you will love it. Brush up on your Spanish, it will be helpful. Medalla beer, ain't bad either. :D
Don't forget Duty Free on the way back.

Sounds like a good time. I was wondering why you hadn't been posting.
You did forget the most important part though. Did you run into any flying nuns? :D

For decades a small house in Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania was rumored to be a mistress’s house that was frequented by one of the most well-known pirates today: Blackbeard.

I already live in a hunted house. There is a demon that lives in the floor of my closet, or so I am told. My dad says that when I was a kid I would sit in my room and speak in tongues to the demon that lived in my room. He said that I told him that the demon wanted me to descend to hell with it. I was like 5 at the time. My grandmother wanted an exorcism preformed on me.
Now you all know what is wrong with me.:D
Obviously it was not a hot vampire demon. If it were you all would have never heard of me cuz I would have went to hell with her.

A lot of men descend to Hell and not all with hot vampire chicks demons. All it takes is the single utterance of the words "I do" and it's all done. This is usually done by men who just want the noise to stop and would do anything for the hangover to go away.
While this all sounds pretty harsh it is mild in comparison to the life of servitude they have just committed themselves to.
For those who may not think that saying "I do" is the road to Hell then tell my why the choices are "I do" or "Hell no." Why would one say no to Hell if it were not the other option?

The hotel is still there. Didn't see the firehouse. We got there late in the afternoon and completed our work and went to the hotel. We left mid-morning and headed north to the rain forest and San Juan. Strange how it took three days to do 4 hours of work.

From a visitor's perspective, I like P.R. also. Been there six times, but only for vacations and never lived there.
Played golf at Dorado. Went up the mountain at Fajardo. Spent a whole day at the rain forest. Visited the castles and forts, spent lots of time on the beaches.
But I think living there might be different for 90% of the population.
Watch "West Side Story" for another perspective.;)

I spent 2 years there in the mid 60's. Nice beaches. We also had a microwave site on El Yunque that we routinely had to maintain. The view from the summit is breathtaking plus some of the lower peaks had remains of Spanish look out posts. That might be a great spot to take your HT. I recall taking a path from the M/W site through the forest in the fog (cloud) and suddenly being about 2 steps from a 3000 ft drop to a valley below. Whoa!
The next time you go you might want to find out the visiting hours at the Arecibo Radio Astronomy Observatory. Interesting place for hams.

Puerto Rico? I'm half puertorriqeno, my mother was born in San Juan. She married my father who is Irish and Italian in the early eighties. My mother is proud of her latino heritage and so am I. Mucho gusto, adios mis amigos.

And for James Bond fans. (The Arecibo dish was used in the movie "Goldeneye").
