Some users have reported problems using the DOS command line version of the QRZ software in our latest release (version 20) on newer versions of Windows. # #
We have just completed an update that will restore normal function to the DOS version of the QRZ Software. # The update is free and available to all users. #This update does not contain any new features but does make the software run on the latest editions of Windows.
The update is called QRZ2.EXE and it replaces the QRZ.EXE program found on all editions of the QRZ CDROM. #It has been tested on Win98 and WinXP and should run just fine on all versions of Windows from Win95 and later.
Get your free upgrade at http://www.qrz.com/patches/qrz2.exe
This file should be installed in any convenient place on your system. #Just remember to type QRZ2 instead of QRZ when you want to run the new version.
To run the program, first save it to your hard drive and then open a DOS window by clicking on the Start menu, select Run, then enter #'command' #(no quotes) as the program. #When your command window is open, you can CD to the directory containing the qrz2.exe program and run it by simply typing QRZ2 at the prompt.
Please address any questions or comments to me, aa7bq@qrz.com
