JW - Spetsbergen (EU-026)
Three members of SL0ZS, The Voluntary Radioorganisation - Stockholm branch, are planning for a DX-pedition to JW/Svalbard between the 24th of February and 1st of March 2003.
The team consists of
JW/SM0BSO, Peter Rosenthal
JW/SM0LQB, Stellan Wersén and
JW/SM1TDE, Eric Wennström
We will operate from the clubstation JW5E located in Longyearbyen, IOTA: EU-026, WAZ: 40, locator: JQ78TF. We will sign JW/homecall.
Activity will take place on all bands from 160-6m in CW, SSB, RTTY, PSK31 and SSTV as well as several other digital modes. Frequencies: CW 2 kHz up from the bandedges, SSB usual DX- and IOTA-frequencies (eg. 14195, 14260, 18145, 21195, 28460 kHz).
We will also be active the following satellites: AO-7, AO-10, FO-20, FO-29 and UO-14. Expect JW/SM0LQB to show up on most orbits!
A CW-beacon, callsign: JW/SM1TDE, will be operational throughout the expedition on 50110 kHz beaming as follows:
14z - 20z east
15z - 17z and 19z-22z and 01z-04z south
21z - 00z and 01-04z west
The beacon will transmit for one minute then QRX another one, etc.
Lots of equpiment including TS-570S, FT-847, IC-706, beams, verticals, feeders, paddles, computers and other more or less necessary accesories will be brought along…
QSL via homecalls, bureau or direct.
