Pennsylvania Amateurs - looking for volunteers

PA-SitRep (Pennsylvania Situation Report) is developing
a group of PA-SitRep Contacts, most of whom (27 so far)
are Amateur Radio Operators. #We are currently seeking
additional Amateur Radio volunteers.

PA-SitRep Contacts are asked to monitor emergency
situations from their local areas and post emergency
situation reports to the PA-SitRep Discussion e-mail
list, which is used, in part, for monitoring developing
emergency situations in PA. #If warranted, PA-SitRep
Administrators move the emergency situation reports
to our main emergency alert PA-SitRep list where the
alert is distributed to over 500 subscribers throughout
the state of Pennsylvania.

Our ultimate goal with PA-SitRep is to build a significant
enough network of Contacts throughout Pennsylvania in
order to provide timely and accurate emergency situation
reports, free of charge, to those subscribed to our
emergency alert e-mail distribution lists. #

In addition to providing the situation reports for our
own emergency alert lists, the eventual long-term goal
of PA-SitRep is to provide rapid emergency situation
reporting service, free of charge, to any interested
served agencies, much in the same way that SKYWARN
provides weather situation reports for the National
Weather Service. #
