Would any Youths be interested in an Echolink net. I am almost positive that we all could just connect to one person's call and go from there. Please post if you are interested.

We can but I would have to check with your repeater owner. Can you download echolink? It is 100% free program, all you need is a mic and since it is an echolink net, we can just check you in by text(there is a little text box you can chat in). Go to echolink.org (http://echolink.org) and download it then validate your call through your home phone.

OK the first Youth Echolink net will be Today(Sunday) at 6PM CST. Get on Echolink and connect to my call(W0FSS). I will be on at 5:45 ready for people. I hope we will have an ok turn out today.

I'd be interested in it too. I'm sure I've missed it for tonight. We have Echolink on this computer, but the only problem is we don't have a mic for the computer anymore. Let someone borrow it and never got it back. Gotta check with the hubby to see what else we can do :)

Ok...so...I found some headphones that work in the computer as a mic. I've tired Echolink and I can only connect to the local repeater for some reason...but if you let me know when the next net is (if there is one), I'll try to get Echolink to work. lol

Hey, a few years ago YEAN (Youth Echolink Amateur Net) was formed out of NAYN (North American Youth Net). The group has fallen a bit inactive but maybe you would consider taking it up again? The yahoo group can be found at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/yaen/ , It looks like maybe some spam occurs but not much, If you contact the owner and either get moderator status you could simply kick the spamming users. I'd greatly recommend seeing what you can do with this!
