Yeah, I don't use CQ100 - Echolink would be decent as it allows people to use RF to connect if they have a local node.
It would be nice if there was an active Youth Net on HF though as well. I ran NAYN for a short while but when I got too busy with school and other things it basically got handed over to another ham. I don't know the status of it today.
At the time we had a PSK31 net, a phone net, and were in the process of getting a CW net going. I think it would be a great idea. I don't know have too much time to be active on a net (don't currently have any gear where I am at on HF) but I would be happy to help coodinate this effort if anyone is interested.

Hey all,
Try this other thread if you are interested in a youth ham net.

We need to look at why the net crashed and burned. Is it because there are tons of youth hams who don't have access to HF? Is it because those of us youth operators are mostly college students or working professionals who are far too busy to try to run a net? I know that is what happened when I ran NAYN, school and work took all of my time and I was no longer home on Friday nights to run the net. Maybe Friday nights were a bad night for the net?
I see threads here every week about echolink nets and youth nets. Lets start an active youth net on HF if that is what is wanted. It can be done and I will be happy to help. I will have equipment here in the next couple of weeks.
