My ft7800 dual band will trip the repeaters but there is no audio, any suggestions? is this a menu problem? I tried a new mic at a local ham fest and it did the same thing.
any input welcome

Not familiar with the radio, but if there's a headphone jack, try plugging in a set of 'phones and see if there's audio that way. Often the headphone jack gets a little askew and won't make enough contact to allow the speaker to operate. Couldn't hurt to try it.

I think he meant no audio from the mic.

Check it on simplex with a HT.

With that symptom, the last thing it would be is the microphone. Either the mic works or it doesn't, it won't make a sound like a car or truck engine.
Do you have another power supply you can try?
Where does it say that in his post?

You can click on the blue arrow after his callsign in my post if you want to see the post the quote came from.
In that case, yes I would say the power supply.

this is probebly due to cctcs tone button not in the correct mode, i should be set to encode, any other and you may not have audio.dave g0gdg
