I think he is trying to say he imported an Icom radio from Japan and it doesn't transmit on 27MHz?

Or is he looking for mods to allow transmit in other ITU region allocations, and saying he is NOT looking for "CB" mods.
A more specific request would help....

It's not suppose to TX on the CB band.It is not legal to TX on the CB band with that radio.;)
At least not here in the US.

I have a Japanese version......
I did first remove the D2030 diode on my radio, but that did not open up the TX range. Then I removed the D2028 diode, and this opened up TX from 1,6-26 MHz and 28-30 MHz.
27 MHz - not :(

In NZ, there's a 27MHz amateur band (26.950 to 27.300), shared with ISM, 5W EIRP max, telemetry or telecontrol modes only. Hardly need a 706Mk2G for that.

The japanese ICOM 706MK2G is blocked on 27 MHz
Japan has 8 channel, AM citzens band allocation between 26.968 and 27.144 MHz.
Other frequencies in this range are used by fishing vessels, this the reason for tight control.

The JDF also uses many 27MHz frequencies!

In many countries, it is perfectly legal to open up and use this radio. Japan is NOT one of them.

I for one would like to see documentation substantiating that claim...for the "next time" this particular question gets asked.

According to the pic below, a diode is installed in the 'EU' and version in the spot indicated. Removing said diode will make the radio behave like its USA cousin.

There is also a "None" spot - could that be the position for the "JA" diode?

I imported an Icom radio from Japan and ic706mk2g doesn't transmit on 27MHz.

ten meter band is from 28.00 to 29.700 mhz ic 706 will not transmitt out of amature radio bands without midification.

I would not do it.

But he's looking to do it. Notice the callsign - NOT U.S.

Can anyone help with the mod data?

Hi, this mod is easy if you have patience.
Look at this URL http://www.geocities.com/k3xf/ic706.html
Remove D 2030
I have this on my Icom - it works fine!
