Give yourselfs a pat on the back :)
We are truely ahead of the curb and are the future of our hobby.
It may seem sometimes that we are a minority.
But some of the greatest groups of people were young!
We are full of ideas, and can all bring our own strengths to the hobby.
Go youth!
Spread the joy, excell in your desired field of ham radio, and if you dont have one keep looking I have no doubt you will find it.
Some may have read the thread I started earlier today, but after some thought I realised that I was ignorant and really didnt understand...
And I publicly apologise for any stress I may have caused or for any offence, tresspass, greivience Im sure some of you can understand.. at least I hope so.
You guys really are a great group of people and I appreciate you, Thank you for your tolerance in advance and good DX to you

You know the ones...
Where you key up the repeater and transmit and they tear you apart because they were in use of the repeater at the time?
But you had been listening for at least 2 minutes and heard nothing?
My favorite are the ones that tend to take over EVERYTHING at a club contest just because they seem to think they are better than everyone there?
And when you try to do your own thing to get contacts they start putting you down? Making comments about your code.. or asking you to stop a contact you have JUST STARTED because he is listening to another station he wants to call?
(in this case it was a guy at the club that didnt even know code and had to RX with a program.. I think it was CW get or something.
Not all OF's are like that.. most want to help you learn, improve your skills and grow in the hobby.
But there are always the ones that are out to get you and will put you down at every chance they get just to make their ego a little bigger.
You know the ones??? where you can feel them staring at the back of your head when your tuning around??
Sorry I dont have that problem.
I am a control OP on the local repeater, they are a good group of guys (not affiliated). I have never had the problem with any person trying to take over the band or equipment, maybe because Im not in a club.
As for them staring at me, well a lot of people do that, lol.:p It sounds like you're hanging with the wrong group. Now if your talking about the OF's that hang on the net, now that's a different story. Then again there are jerks in all hobbies, all walks of life for that matter.

I guess so,
I remember when I used to be webmaster of the club website.. used to pay to get a taxi to go to edmonton for all of the meetings.. paid club dues and helped cut the grass and setup antennas..
But Its really a group that runs on ego.. sad almost..
Like the new avatar you got!

I've run into a lot of those problems myself here in Iowa.
I participate in events, but only to get looked down upon by some individuals. I gave a presentation at the local club a year ago, and some members huffed at what I had to present like they knew it all or that it wasn't useful. Then I hear complaints about the club not being active enough, but there is no effort going into getting the hobby more out into the general public. I'm one of a handful of hams in the county and by far the most active out of all of them. I've already gotten a few people started in the hobby and other have nothing to show for it yet they whine about stuff. I'm proactive with getting the hobby out there, but limited in a lot of ways. Oh well, nothing can be perfect :D

With a populous as large as ours we will always be the minority.

No,
Actually, only a few of them do.
The only ones that come to mind off the top of my head are W0EA, I think KU0DM, and myself.
I'm not sure if W0EA counts though, he's 21.... but he posts in this forum. :D
Anyways, I'm not sure who else (under 21) does code. There are probably others, I just forgot.

True but I said that post in this forum, and well the others dont post often.
ve6wtf knows code, I believe. I can receive it, dont have a key so cant send it, however that problem will be solved shortly. Then again Im 21, so I dont count.:( I guess I was not thinking in the same terms that you were. But my statement killed the complaining from both sides.:D
