It has come to my attention that political threads are now being started in ragchew. What should be done to the violators?

Ok, I voted for re-education camps but only because I know a place these camps can be held. It's a nice tropical island environment where there are plenty of camp counselors just waiting to pitch in and help.

It means they make you take your teeth out before serving you a steak.
Ok, I voted for re-education camps but only because I know a place these camps can be held. It's a nice tropical island environment where there are plenty of camp counselors just waiting to pitch in and help.
I heard that they also have wonderful, educated moderators on that special island.

Yup, this is the kind of mindless discourse that got the political forum banned in the first place.
It is unfortunate that those people who are unable to offer a reasoned remark about any political situation still feel compelled to post this kind of, well, claptrap.
The very reason I stopped posting on either forum (Ragchew or Political Junkie) was that even those posters whose replies were often well written and thoughtful, no matter what position they took, still succumbed to the temptation of mindless name-calling and personal digs. Plus, the many posts such as the one quoted here that offer nothing of any substance to support one view or another...and are apparently meant only to inflame. Surely, this is not an attempt to convince anyone to vote one way or the other, is it? Can this be thought of as mature adult bahavior?
Some of these posters even knew that name-calling and personal attacks are no more than the refuge of those with no good argument to support their position. They resorted to name-calling and personal attacks in spite of that knowledge. Very discouraging, indeed.
(I must say, I do miss some of the good discussions, though, with those who offered a reasoned challenge to my views.)
