I should also note there is a snake handler who injects snake venom in to his body. Though he started on a diluted portion and started up to a higher concentration. He has been bitten several times, which the previously mentioned method saved his life just by getting his body used to venom. Snakes are a serious matter, however handled properly alright.

I don't think the parents or people of india have any ill intentions. While a snakes fangs do grow back quickly, it is assumed the snake is "neutered" right before the right of passage.

Animals right's activists mentioned in the UK article are nothing but clueless soccer moms/dads who have no right to children themselves since they're irresponsible.

I wouldn't mind seeing the event in person, sounds interesting being able to be around a neutered cobra.

Thats like letting a kid play with an unloaded gun; no way he's going to get shot with THAT gun, but what happens when he comes upon one that's loaded? Same with the snake, but after seeing video of the village in India that throws babies off of a rooftop into the arms of the villagers for good luck, nothing would surprise me.

Hmm, i didnt see that the snake ha da stiched mouth and no fangs, thats alot better, but i odnt like snake smuch anymore i always had pet one sand always wasnt afraid they were harmful, well one was a pet of my buddys and the boa decided to try to tighten its body around my neck, well i had a knife, lucky my buddy came home, sorry to say it was him or me. Still babys dont need to be around those i mean what if one has fangs and no stiched mouth, it can happen, then what yeah maybe it decided to play with a different animal thinkin its ok, and boom , child is at harm.:(

Years ago I used to play with realistic looking toy guns. You know, metal and without the red plastic caps.

I've also handled quite a few real ones and I haven't shot myself yet.

You must not have ever visited a third-world country. I lived in Ethiopia for a few years, and remember that it was very common to see little boys under about age 3 run around naked from waist down, not just in the home but often in the street playing with other kids. Little girls too, but usually only in the home.

I didn't see anything wrong with this video except the typical comments from ignoramuses who think their little fears and prejudices should be shared by others. The snake seemed to strike lightly, just touching the kid. It is something I am not sure about, but when I was bit by a water moccasin at age six or seven, I think I remember it being a very light strike. I was extremely ill for a couple of days.

Strangely, the place on my back where the snake bit me has stayed "itchy" for all of these decades since. I was actually disappointed when the lump from the snakebite faded into obscurity, as the kids in my Alaskan neighborhood seemed to be awestruck by the sight of a snakebite injury, even if it was just a little bump.

I was sitting on the bank of a small irrigation ditch in my back yard when I lived in Albuquerque. I was minding my own business and idly throwing rocks in the water to irritate the snakes when one of them bit me.

Oh yeah, I did too. I grew up in a hunting family, had my first BB gun at 6, first shotgun at 12. Never played with them as a toddler though and I would like to think my parents wouldn't let me play with a snake either; at least not until I was old enough to shoot the thing!:D

Well you know there are quite a lot of people right here in America who have kids and pet snakes, and these snakes also have their fangs intact, and these kids also play with the snakes.

I don't see you saying anything about them.
