I love my 02AT so much I'll never part with it. However, after several tries at used packs and rebuilding packs I have decided NiCads for 20 year old HTs are not the way to go. So I got the 8 cell case from Batteries America for about $25 or $30. It's the answer. I can use alkaline cells which are easily obtainable from anywhere when I travel or have "high use" weekends like Dayton. I can use recharagable NiMH cells for a little less power but lower cost every day use. I also use the CP-1 cigar power cord for lots of use.
