Hi all,
I've got some repairs and would like to investigate possible mods to the ICOM 2820 radio.
Unfortunately, I cannot find the service manual with schematics. Yaesu has approved release of their service manuals to the public, but I'm not sure of Icom.
Any ideas? Can someone drop me a PM?

Most latemodel Kenwood manuals are downloadable.
Havent tried Icom..
I have a 2820 which came with operating manual. Didn't go out to Pickup to check for schematic.
Question being, if 2830 is just a follow on to 2820, what possible modification could you do that would not be a serious re-engineering.
making it a 2840. Most anything else would just be trying to get it off frequency, over powered or some illegal use.
The 2820 had some shortcomings that were engineered out of the 2830 and the 2840 wil fix the 2830s shortcomings.
