You may want to check with your Post Office before sending a lead-acid battery to anyone. The sulpheric acid in the battery (sealed or un-sealed) is considered an HAZMAT item and as a minimum will require special packaging to prevent shorts and a way to contain the acid if the packaging was damaged or container breached.
The hazmat shipping charges may outway the cost of the item.
