I have an Icom 756 Pro-III that I bought last year.

I also have a TenTec Delta II that was given to me by another Ham a few years ago.

Lets see what else is here....a Yaesu FT-7800, FT-60R for when I go camping & satellite QSO's, and another mobile...a Kenwood TM-271A.

(Yes I know its a youth forum....but who cares.....I still play video games and watch cartoons...)

Hey it let me vote for all three!
My first rig was given to me, the next one was bought with money given to me by my parents for my birthday, but ever since I have bought my rigs and acc's with mo own money.

My first rig was given to me by my grandfather, which was a HTX-242.
Then with birthday money I picked up a FT-920.
Since then I have purchased many rigs with my own money.
They have been as follows, IC-706mk2, IC-730, FT-100D, TS-850SAT, IC-T7H.

As of now I have upgraded my station and it is as follows, IC-756ProIII, IC-7000, LDG AT-7000, AL-572B, VX-7R, and some assorted acc's for the radios.

( I still count as youth, right?):p

Rigs,

Kenwood TS-140S- Traded an MSR-2000 I got from the dump for it.
Yaesu FT-212RH- Had given to me buy a widow of an SK
Yaesu FT-411R- Bought paid for 100$
Yaesu FT-817ND- Sold my soul... jk Worked and paid for
Yaesu FT-757GX?- Bought fer cheap, problem with output fixed by turning the ssb gain on lmao
Icom IC-729- Bought paid for at hamfest
and I think thats it...

Well I just ordered a Elecraft KX1 so I can have something to beat the crap out of in the field.

Also I just had two 14 foot beams given to me for the 5m band that I am going to use for a 2m phased array for some fun, might even use the leftover peices of element and boom for a 70CM array... then people are gonna have to watch out!!

Now what I do need to buy is a LDG 100 auto tuner
A good SWR meter, pref from LDG as well
A World Pack II is on the list as well.
A few solar cells and some batteries for the 817

I sorta share the radios I use with my dad and brother... My first rig, a ramsey cw TX kit (Bought Myself) and a borrowed RX. My uncle then gave us a half working HW-101, which got repaired with help of my neighbor W1XH. A local ham donated a TS-440s to us which we share, and my dad purchased a ft-897d which we all share... So the only real rigs that are mine have been either homebrew or kits... Im also holding some gear for the clubs that I am involved with, and have given a few radios to the clubs I am involved with...

My shack has Yaesu 857D, Bought new from Unversal Radio and a yaesu FT-840 I just picked up on Ebay. Other radios include- Ft2500, Ft-8900, FT-7800.

Scanners include R$ Pro2006, Pro2005, Pro2053, Pro 2048, and a Uniden BCT15.

HT's include, Yaesu VX-3R, a pro 533, and a pro-92.

I use my own money to get everything I have... No one has ever bought me anything. I am aways looking for radios, some I find online, some I get over the counter, at dealers like AES wickliffe, and Universal Radio.

Nice to see the range of radios and ways the radios were attained... glad to see no "five finger discounted" radios either! ;) haha... It was good to have the older radios "given" to me, although they needed repair! so I definitely had to work at that, got me some electronics experience! I can say now though, working 40 hrs a week, paying for pretty much everything, and college... Anything built by your own hands, or bought with hard earned money leaves someone with an even greater appreciation for the gear and the contacts made with it! The neatest part about getting into the hobby for me was the "mystery" of electronics when I first started. It was great not knowing what the heck I was doing, learning mostly by trial and error (yes some hot, smokey, although not so fire(y) errors!).

FT-890 - purchased myself by layaway from another ham in 2003
VX-150 - purchased myself from AES
Ten Tec 1320 kit - purchased myself

And thats it. I wish I had dsp. I wish I had better qsk. I wish I had a better tuner. I wish I had more tuneability of my signal. I wish I had a quieter receiver. I wish I had a better computer interface.

My current radios give me everything I need (and a bit more) but someday I'll have as nice a rig as you guys do (706, proIII etc)

I bought all my rigs, including the new FT-817nd that's on it's way. I was going to say that i will probably be giving some of my equipment to the first of my 3 children that shows an interest in the hobby. This is a win/win situation because I get an excuse to buy more equipment and one of my children get's a good head start in a hobby that could last them a lifetime.

Everything was purchased new except the Motorola Spectra, which was purchased off e-bay about 8 months ago.

I own a Yaesu FT-897D for my mobile and station operations (Contesting,DX RTTY......and so on) I´m almost always QRV when I´m hiking on a mountain with a wire antenna tuned by my Antenna Tuner on 20 and 10m),

a Yaesu FT-60R and a Kenwood for 70cm for Packet and FM.....
Furthermore I bought an LDG automatik tuner 100Pro for my Portable Vertical (15m high) working from 80-6m and a W3DZZ.....
I bought them on my own nearly 2 years ago when I got my license.......

So now I´m a happy ham and nearly nothing could part me of my Rigs.....

they all work great however the ft-2000 and the ts-940 are the best for hardcore hf work (contesting, dxing etc)

I am pretty new to ham, got my license in February of this year. For some reason I have been drawn to old Kenwoods.

TS-820 -Dipole at 25'
TR-9130 -11 element yagi setup for SSB
VX-7R -Arrow 144/440 J-pole

So far really having alot of fun. I really want to find a good 10m yagi that is not to hard to build.

I have a yaesu 857d that I got because it was cheap and powerful (100 watts). I liked how small it was so that I can bring it with me. I also got an alinco switching psu and a mfj tuner that are both really small. My whole rig fits into a messenger bag! I got everything at HRO (the ham radio outlet).

I bought my first radio (Yeasu 7800) before I had my license, I loved listening in to all the chatter that was going on. I used to be into CB radio, and I was amazed when I started hearing people who were almost 100 miles away!

I now have an 8800 in my truck, and a 2800 at home. I love them!
