Dear Everybody!

I have a old IC-751A transceiver.My problem:If I turn my transceiver on and push RIT button I can see always -9 on the display(instead of 0.0).It is not normal,and no decimal point ,only -9,not -9.9
And the most interesting:If set the RIT potmeter clockwise I can see -8 -7 -6 ,the value is decreasing with 1kHz step without decimal point,if I set the RIT potmeter counterclockwise I can see -5 -4 -3 ... also deacrising.
If I push CL button everything will be ok because I can see 0.0 on the display,and of course if I set the RIT potmeter clockwise I can see 0.1 0.2 0.3 0.4 0.5 ... and if I set the RIT potmeter counterclockwise I see 0.4 0.3 0.2 0.1 0.0 -0.1
My question:What causes this? The problem is on the RIT panel? Do you have any good idea?What can I check?

Check and see if the memory board on your 751A has been replaced with the Piexx. This is a fairly common problem when the board has been wired to the rig controls to enable the extra memory banks that the board gives.

If so, there are two solutions to the problem. Keep pushing the clear button to restore RIT display functionality, or unplug the molex connector that connects the board to the switches...

That is what Piexx told me when I had the same problem after installing the Piexx board aboard my 751a....."Hit the CLR button after turning the rig on"
