I imagine the biggest risk to ears and the rest of my head is filming in a bar, regardless of what country or the sound levels.

I imagine the biggest risk to ears and the rest of my head is filming in a bar, regardless of what country or the sound levels.

My friend, it is because of such noise, I have compeletly stopped going to those bars, they are connected to each other and with very loud speekers all around, not much of fun.

I now sepnd my time, playing pool, booling or in the cafee smoking sheshah with friends, going early in the morning to the mountains or in the afternoon for photography, this is my holiday in Thailand, I do not even go any more to discos, or night clubs, I do go out for an evening sea food by the sea with the familly or in a casino to see a group singing and have a late meal there.

You been always very engoraging my friend and I wish you all of the best, I am leaving to Thailand on next Monday for 2 months, if there is anything I can do for you please let me now.

Thank you my friend and wishing you all of the best

This is when a ham decide to give himself a break away from his radio room and go some where else on holiday.

You have to wonder - how many of those girls in that bar are real girls and how many are ladyboys?

I don't go into clubs very much, but when I do, I bring earplugs. And if I forget to bring them, I make them out of little bits of paper napkin.

Hearing is very important to me. With headphones on, I can ferret out the weakest DX down in the mud and QSO him. That happened in the June VHF contest. I was only running 100W, but when the band opened up to the 7's,, I actually had a Pileup. There were stations so weak and deep in there that my hearing was taxed to pull them out. Meanwhile, at our Elks meeting, they are forced to use a high power PA system to blast the audience with audio because most of them cannot hear. Sometimes one of the folks in the meeting will mess with their hearing aid and it will emit a high pitched squeal that is almost deafening!! Why they can't hear it I don't know, but they can't. I can hear excellently. Quiet converstations across the room are discerned easily. I say I can hear a Fly Fart in a Hurricane! The loudest noise I have suffered through is at the Miramar Air Show where they will have a F-15 buzz the crowd at a low altitude. That really damages the hearing!! And the Harrier has to be the noisiest jet ever made! So I always have to use Ear plugs at the Air Show. Rock concerts are pretty bad too, pressing the audio to the point of peoples ears bleeding!!! Protect your hearing, all you young Hams! You don't want to turn out like Gramps whom you have to shout in his ear for him to hear you.
