I just received my new K8RA P-2 paddle a few weeks ago in the middle of field day weekend! (Serial # 0375)

I must say I am highly impressed with the paddle and if you are looking for one please give it a shot. It is structured like a 'Kent' key except it looks nicer (in my opinion) and is cheaper in price! Very well built and it should last a long time.

::Congrats! And remember: Don't ever go up a creek without it.

The P2 sells for $115 USD. I paid $129 for my Kent Twin Paddle. Or, am I missing something?

I can say that the P2 is a very nice key and if I didn't already have my Kent Twin Paddle I'd go with the P2. However, key preferences are a personal choice.

Best,
Brian

Ditto. I'd buy it again.

Wow that is nice, Cal.

I think I'll stick with my cheapie bencher for now though, but that is a nice set of paddles.

Yup Cal, I too am more than thrilled with mine!

For you guys that never had the privilege to operate one, you are totally missing out!!! Same cost as a Bencher, easily 2X the better key!!

My latest paddle is from Vectronics, I think it feels better than the more expensive Bencher ! I think I paid just over $60 plus shipping, new. I use it with a MFJ "grandmaster" memory keyer that I have had for many years and love.
I also have a very old hamkey paddle that I mounted on a salvaged Vibroplex base, set up for "single lever" operation to use with my classic Hallicrafters HA-1 (W9TO) tube keyer.
Why hams pay many hundreds of $'s for keys and paddles is beyond my comprehention, maybe it's thier duty to keep the economy going (but some of them are buying foriegn made keys ?)?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

I just purchased a slighty used Schurr Profi. Talk about sweet. The craftsmanship of this key is just unbelievable. My Idiom Press K-4 kit should arrive in a few days. I can't wait to pair them up.

Sorry,

I wrote the post in a hurry before I did my research. Kents are also very nice keys, I used one long before I had my P2.

Ouch.... given his age.... this conversation is probably illegal in 37 states... LOL.

Nice setup though. I'm still using my homebrew jobbie and my American Morse Equipment iambic paddles. Small, but nice.

I just bought a used Vibroplex Vibrokeyer...cleaned it up, made a few adjustments, and man I love this set of paddles.
