If you own one of these, and the hand-held speaker-mike, don't and I repeat DON'T plug or unplug the speaker-mike while the radio is on. It can (and has) blow the audio output IC. Fortunately the radio was under warranty, because the estimated cost for repair was more than I paid for the radio new. Just to let you know.

I don't even use mine because the radio will go into TX if the jack comes out just a touch, and there is no good design to 'FIX' it into place. Other than that problem (With ALL vertex/yaesu radios) the VX-150 is a great piece of equipment.
