Anybody wanna guess what percent of NPR funding ACTUALLY comes from the taxpayer?
Anybody wanna guess what Daniel Schoor ACTUALLY said in his piece.
You won't find the truth out from any of the righwingnuts!

militarization, euphemistically called patriotism
"don't waive your rights with your flags" - Sage Francis
Patriotism is hard to find these days. People are hating their government claiming they need their guns to protect themselves from their country, they don't want their government involved with their healthcare, and they hate paying their taxes to guarantee their freedom.

People are hating their government
People are distrusting the government that is evolving,
claiming they need their guns to protect themselves from their country,
claiming they need guns to protect them from what the government is evolving into...
they don't want their government involved with their healthcare,
Having seen what typically happens to children "raised by the state" - about 33% of convicted felons are former foster children and reform school graduates - we don't want the same standard of care applied to our anatomies...
and they hate paying their taxes to guarantee their freedom.
We hate paying our taxes for offensive "art" projects, the care and feeding of welfare recipients, bridges to nowhere and other government boondoggles.
Are you distorting reality on purpose, or do you not comprehend reality when you see it?
Republicans and conservatives want to drag their Federal government to a bathub and drown it.
And they scream as loud as they can about patriotism and how not wearing a flag pin on your lapel is unpatriotic.
But they want to murder the duly elected government of the United States much the way these same people might get rid of an unwanted kitten.
Exactly how is that patriotic?
Is Obama going to his friends for the 4th??

You are pretty good at spin. Have you given thought to becoming an O'Reilly writer?
Wikipedia starts out "Patriotism" with Patriotism denotes positive and supportive attitudes to a 'fatherland' (Latin patria < Greek patris, πατρίς), by individuals and groups. The 'fatherland' (or 'motherland') can be a region or a city, but patriotism usually applies to a nation and/or a nation-state.
So let's look at your statement again. Do the words, "distrusting", "protect them from what the government is evolving into", "we don't want the same standard of care", :We hate paying our taxes", and "government boondoggles" sound like "supportive attitudes"?
Using your own words, I see you prove my point very well.

You too? I really don't believe McCain should be judged whether or not he decides to wear a lapel flag pin.

Me either, he should instead be judged on whether he's actually suffering from dementia or not.

Why would the care be substandard ? You can go to Europe and get excellent health care under most of their national health care systems. So, are you saying that our country is so inferior to Europe that they can provide good health care and this country can't ?
We hate paying our taxes for offensive "art" projects, the care and feeding of welfare recipients, bridges to nowhere and other government boondoggles.
What's wrong with having a welfare program to carry someone over until they find a new job ? Is it better to have children living on the gutter and begging for a few pence as they did in decades and centuries gone by ? Is it better to pick up starved abnd sick children dead off the street or see them hoarded into criminal activity so they can afford bread ? Most civilized and industrialized nations have found that society as a whole benefits from a welfare system. It's actually an economical investment.
Don't waste your time, conservatives don't do national investments unless it involves bonds or securities in a market downturn.
After all, who cares about you anyway?
It is hilarious to see how they spew so much hatred and distrust for their country and try to say that they are "patriots".
