View Full Version : Putting my own ethanol stickers on gas pumps heh heh

I would like to print up my own sheet of stickers and put them on every gas pump I use just above the "contains ethanol" stickers.

Possible design ideas?
"F*** Ethanol"

"Shove ethanol up your cornhole"

"Ethanol is what happens when you cross CORN with the FLAKES in Congress"

"Ethanol is corny"

And of course on the sticker would be a link to a website which explains WHY ethanol is such a bad idea.

Would it accomplish anything? Well if enough people see it and get outraged, maybe.

But if nothing else it would at least definitely make me feel better from my one simple act of civil disobedience for the day. :D

Wow.............please put me on your mailing list when you get them made.

I saw an article a few weeks ago where the Texas governor was going to try to get the ethanol EPA mandate over turned. Will have to look and see if anything got done.

If nothing else, it would elevate you to the status of tagger in the eyes of gas station owners, the witnesses -- and the law.

Make bumper stickers. Use one yourself, and sell them or give them to willing collaborators.

I think you're headed down the dirt path here, I'm sure the folks at ADM and their lobbyists are good American Christians.

I'm sorry Mr Binks, your entire fuel injection system must be replaced due to ethanol use.
But...but...at only 50,000 miles!?
Now, now, Mr Binks, don't feel It's just you, it's happening to everyone.

Actually ethanol is not such a bad idea. A gallon of ethanol contains a heck of a lot of energy. The bad part of ethanol is in how it's made. There are far better ways to make it than using corn.

If nothing else, it would elevate you to the status of tagger in the eyes of gas station owners, the witnesses -- and the law. That is one thing that might force me to choose me not to do it - I have the utmost respect for private property. And although there is no damage and no cost involved with removal (a guy and a razor blade in 2 seconds) it still isn't my property.

However it is a way to protest against the government, and lack of customer choice from the oil co's. I'll debate it over Independence Day.

Protesting is good.

Vandalizing/defacing others' private property is not.

Rest assured if you lived near any of my relatives that owned gas stations and did that to their pumps, they'd probably wring your little neck for defacing their private property.

I like(?) the pix of the starving African kid holding up a bowl. Hands are trying to pour a can of ethanol into it. The caption is "can you change it back into corn?".

My feelings exactly.

Politicians just don't seem able to see the results of their misguided efforts.

I must admit I like ethanol in moderation, though I admit I prefer it to be wrapped in oak for a dozen or more years.

I prefer it mixed with the rest of the residue from the grape.

Consider the employees who work there that will have to scrape off YOUR sticker protest, etc.

I have never seen a gas station that sells ethanol.
I guess thats just because of the area in which I live.

I thought as a libertarian you respected private property?

Looks like you're nothing but a big "my way or the highway" hypocrite.

And really, if you do pull that crap at their station, they'll show you no mercy. Really. With high gas prices they've had vandals and gas thieves try to rip them off one too many times, so they're now watching the pumps like hawks.

My first thought is, drive offs.

With drive offs running rapid, Im pretty sure thats hardly a pump in the US that does NOT have a camera on it.

Whatever you do, is most likely recorded.

People being overly sensitive about gas & prices, I bet you a judge somewhere would try to twist that into some sort of tampering charge.

Who cares?

If we don't get off the "oil standard" (and ethanol is no better because it's a limited resource) very quickly, we're all in serious trouble.

Sun-wind-tides. Those are the energy source of the present and the future and have been there since the beginning of time, and will be there a million years after we're all dead.

No drive offs here. All of the stations have finally gone to the pay at the pump system . If you dont have a credit card you must pay before you pump. That stopped the drive off business

Ype, if they are smart they should. Cameras are very cheap. You can buy IR cameras for about $100.00 bucks. You cant have too many cameras.

It doesn't have to be ethanol either. Methanol (wood alcohol), propyl and isopropyl alcohol will work as well.

The bumper sticker idea is lawful and who knows, it could net you a tidy profit down the road or at least galvanize like minded individuals.

No. They're business owners who simply wish to protect their investment from vandalism.

Should I be able to throw eggs at your house or car because you can clean it up with a little water? I hope you don't become a violent thug because of a little egg yolk.

Hardly the same.

But just the same, I'd be charged with battery.

Hardly the same.

It is the same. It's defacement of private property with intent to harm the owner's enjoyment of their private property. In other words, IT'S NOT YOURS. LEAVE IT ALONE.

But just the same, I'd be charged with battery.

Now you're getting it. I don't care what bug is up your or matt's butt, there is NO EXCUSE to deface or vandalize private property.
