Veterans (or anyone) who have anything relevant to add, please hit the blog link in the article, and comment at the bottom of the blog entry. I added a comment, it is currently in hold for review.
He claims to be a 'mid career junior officer' who received the 'taxable equivalent' of more than $169,000 last year. He is probably a liar / faker, probably NOT in the military.
You can google 'military pay scales'. The DFAS site has downloadable PDF files that state the current military pay scales.
What he MIGHT be doing is attempting to factor in ALL possible military benefits for an active duty military person, or ANYTHING that can be construed as a benefit; transportation, housing, medical care, the cost of food in military dining facilities ('mess halls'), etc.; into a theoretical financial equivalent. MISLEADING, at BEST. AND this has NOTHING to do with VETERANS who have left the service and / or retired!
There are MANY veterans that know first hand that the VA (Veterans Administration) can be corrupt, incompetent and uncaring (especially over the past 10 years or so). I am one of them. Veterans DO NOT receive what they have EARNED!
