A postcard featuring a cute puppy sitting in a policeman's hat advertising a Scottish police force's new telephone number has sparked outrage from Muslims.
Tayside Police's new non-emergency phone number has prompted complaints from members of the Islamic community.
The choice of image on the Tayside Police cards - a black dog sitting in a police officer's hat - has now been raised with Chief Constable John Vine.

Can this stupidity get even worse?? An advertisement with a picture of a little dog causes Muslims to get their panties in a wad?? Is this the 21st Century or what??
I have something to say about this, and it can't get any better than THIS! (http://www.dotsub.com/films/moredemands/index.php?autostart=true&language_setting=en_1618)

I say too bad for them. If they don't like it then let them move to Saudi Arabia or some country where their views are shared and accepted by like minded people. They are living and diversifying in other countries with different types of people then they'll have to learn to adapt and tolerate people who have differing views.

"Educated" people who strap on bombs and blow up innocent people obviously have no intent to "adapt and tolerate people who have different views."
Their way or the highway is pretty much the way they live.
When a newspaper pokes fun at them by showing one's headdress as a bomb to point out their violent tendencies and they react by rioting and killing *EACH OTHER* you are no longer dealing with rational people . . . the irony apparently too much for them to handle.
Sure makes me want to bow and pray 5 times daily . . .

The problem is that you cannot stereotype all Islamic people that way. Most Islamic people are normal good hard working people. Yes there are some extremists but they don't represent the majority of all Muslims. Like anything else the issue with Muslims, terrorism, and the strained relationships we see today are the result of decades of failed diplomacy and other related problems.
The issue is complex and not simply a black and what issue.
I agree that some Muslims seem a bot overly sensitive about some issues, such as the police dog. Then again perhaps their is valid reason why human beings become emotionally sensitized at times.

Actually the only one showing their complete lack of education, sophistication, and awareness is the knuckledragging poster who simplemindedly accuses the 1.4 Billion Muslims in the world of all being fanatics and terrorists.

I never did anything of the kind.
Indeed, it's the 1.3999999999 Billion Muslims who sit quietly and say nothing while the radicals turn their "peaceful" religion into Hell on Wheels.
Gosh. What *WOULD* the ACLU do if a Fundamentalist Christian walked into the Mall of America and blew up, say . . . 200 people??

You certainly did. You stated that you are not going to bow and pray 5 times a day (Islam) because those that do blow each other up and are intolerant. That is Exactly what you said.

Like Timothy Mcveigh did? He had a Mass read before his execution if I remember correctly.

I must assume that English is not your first language. What I said was this, and I quote:
"When a newspaper pokes fun at them by showing one's headdress as a bomb to point out their violent tendencies and they react by rioting and killing *EACH OTHER* you are no longer dealing with rational people . . . the irony apparently too much for them to handle.

I guess the sarcasm flew right over your head. So be it. My point about praying was not directed at Muslims, but at my sarcastic hope that praying might quell their desire to kill innocent people.
Like Timothy Mcveigh did? He had a Mass read before his execution if I remember correctly.
OK. English isn't your first language and history is not your forte either.
Timothy McVeigh was not a fundamentalist Christian. There is some debate as to whether he was a true Christian at all. His hatred for our Government drove him, not his religious beliefs. There is *nothing* in his hatred for our government that was fueled by religion.
I've often been humored by lib'rul loones who quickly point out McVeigh as an example of Christian Fundamentalism gone awry. Trouble is, he wasn't one. Do your research and you can easily confirm this.
<sigh>
I won't comment on the irony of your post in suggesting that the simple act of having mass read at one's execution is akin to being a fundamentalist Christian and how you pounced on my mentioning praying five times as being intolerant of Muslim Fanaticism. Are you always this "enlightening?"

I lived in an 85% Islamic country for a year ( 1974 - 1975 ). Turkey. A cosmopolitan and wordly country, compared to Yemen or Aden.
If you look at a girl and smile, you have committed the crime of mental rape. Her male relatives can kill you in your tracks. Look at a girl and sniff a flower. Say "That's a pretty girl".
Imagine, you're 19, in the hormone zone, and you can't check her out:
http://www.diziler.com/gallery/46de42c3d43720b65e8b86d33a982d80e7384ebam.jpg
The closest analog would be Mormons, Mennonites and Amish in the USA. Killer death psycho Jihadist Mormons, Mennonites and Amish.
The name of a certain famous fuzzy fruit associated with Georgia:
http://www.peach-communication.com/Bilddaten/THE%20PEACH.jpg
is a homonym for the turkish word for bastard, pecz.
Use that word, die in your tracks. Every male in hearing range ( all carrying knives, a man without a knife would be considered the Turkish equivalent of Richard Simmons ) will kill you. It isn't a meaningless throw-away word like it is here. Call a person a pecz over there, you have insulted them, their parents, their grandparents, and all their brothers and sisters. This is not brushed off with "I'll just consider the source on that one" like it would be here.
This does not mean it is a violent society. It means it is a society with rules, and the rules are obeyed.
A side effect of having spent a year in Turkey: I can't help evaluating TV for the effect it would have on Turks, and their less tolerant Islamic neighbors.
A Turkish TV station manager who aired infomercials for "Zumba", Law & Order Special Victims Unit, all the pelvic gyrations and crotch grabbing on BET, Jerry Springer, et cetera, would be a felon.
If anyone feels the need to decree me a racist xenophobe, my response is the standard soldiers reply in these situations:
"I was there and I don't remember seeing you"

"The closest analog "..................................... The thing most like ( Moslem attitudes )
"would be ".................................................. would be
"Mormons, Mennonites and Amish in the USA.".....Mormons, Mennonites and Amish in the USA.
" Killer death psycho Jihadist Mormons, Mennonites and Amish. "
This is satire. Mormons, Mennonites and Amish are mellow, tranquil people. Muslims have a distressing tendency to chop up people who commit what they think of as crimes. Lopping off of hands and heads, honor killings.
It can't be explained any simpler. If you can't get it, try an upgrade on your end.

MB:
In the past Mormons have not been "peaceful". They have murdered large groups of people who differed in the basic beliefs of the Church including women and teenage children.
Now Mennonites and their more conservative "cousins", the Amish, are basically peace loving people. The Mennonites do accept modern things although in moderation. The Amish generally do not accept anything that was in use after the 1860s. The two religions started as a single one (Mennonite) but the Amish broke away during the mid to late 19th century. Although I am not a Mennonite nor Amish, I do have all sorts of relatives who adhere to both religions.
My most distant ancestor (the farthest back that has been traced) was a Mennonite minister who was imprisoned in what is now Switzerland. Now he was "lucky" because the Catholic Church in that country was executing people for just being Mennonites. In the old Dutch empire the opposite was happening. That is Catholics were being executed. Finally an official in Brussels (then part of the old Dutch empire) came up with the idea of exchanging Dutch Catholics for Swiss Mennonites and that was accepted by both countries. My ancestor (Ulrich Zaugg) moved about 30 miles over the German border after being released from prison. His sons moved to Brussels and their sons came to the American colonies in 1719 and 1721. Their last names became Zug and then Zook shortly after coming to this country (the pronunciation of Zaugg, Zug, and Zook is basically the same) all within a single generation.

No, it might be true. I heard of a case where some guy was in a Muslim country and he said the word "balloon". Several Muslim men mistook him and thought he said "baldroon". Apparently "baldroon" means something to the effect of "your wife is a **&&* and &**^ ing &*((^&" They subsequently sliced and diced him for using that word even though he didn;t actually use the word.
And the US honestly thinks it's going into a society like that and will change it? How dumb do you have to be to believe that will work?
