Hello everyone,
Recently changed my callsign from KB3JKG to KN3V.
My old login used KB3JKG but I cannot update my info since the new callsign seems to have propagated into QRZ.

Anyway, if there is someone who can help out with this matter it would be much appreciated.

I'll check back here later today.
Thanks and 73s
Karl

Hello Karl,

I checked and found your new login name kn3v has been created.
Have you tried to login with kn3v and current password??
If you have not yet tried, please just try it first.

If you still have some difficutties, please let us know again.

Kaz,
Yes, I've tried logging in as KN3V but it says the username or password is incorrect.
So... I tried resetting the passwork for KN3V, and it sends an email to the KB3JKG account, telling me that my login name is KB3JKG instead of KN3V.

I can reset the KB3JKG login password just fine, and I can login to the KB3JKG account just fine, but it tells me that I do not have sufficient access to update the KN3V information, profile, etc.

Seems like I'm stuck in limbo.

Is it possible that the prev owner on KN3V still has a login here ?
I can't remember if I was able to create that account or it already existed.

Thanks again for all your help, your efforts are really appreciated.

Kaz,
I can olny long in with KB3JKG and current password.

Any attempt to reset password for either kb3jkg or kn3v keeps telling me that I am associated with the kb3jkg account.

I've set up a kn3v- at-verizon-dot-net email, but the kn3v login keeps wanting to send email to kb3jkg (which still exists).

And I know I have the password correct and that caps lock is set correctly.

Any other suggestions... should I start over and possibly have you delete the kn3v account ?

Thanks
Karl

I managed to change the kb3jkg login email to my new email (kn3v-at-verizon-dot-net).

I can still only login as kb3jkg, the kn3v account does not accept the password.

When logged in as kb3jkg, I cannot update my information kn3v, because it tells me that:

Update Access Not Authorized

You lack sufficient privileges for this operation. QRZ rules for editing callsign information require that your login name be a valid callsign that already exists in our database.

If your login name is a valid callsign that is not yet in our database then you must use the help of a volunteer who will be happy to update your callsign information. Once entered, your privileges will be instantly upgraded to allow you to make your own changes. We have set aside a special forum called the DX Helpers where DX callsign holders can find a volunteer who is willing to help. Don't worry, there are lots of friendly folks who are willing to lend a hand to get your callsign into the database.

If you are a USA licensed amateur, chances are that the QRZ server has not yet received an FCC update for your callsign. If this is the case then you should wait until your callsign record appears on this site before trying to make any changes. If your callsign has recently changed, you may still be able to login under your old callsign.

When I try to reset the password for the kn3v account, it sends an email, shown below (edited) and even though I'm trying to change the password for the kn3v account, it keeps telling me that my login name is kb3jkg.

Dear kb3jkg,

You have requested to reset your password on QRZ Forums because you have forgotten your password. If you did not request this, please ignore it. It will expire and become useless in 24 hours time.

To reset your password, please visit the following page:
http://forums.qrz.com/login.php?................. (edited)

When you visit that page, your password will be reset, and the new password will be emailed to you.

Your username is: kb3jkg

To edit your profile, go to this page:
http://forums.qrz.com/profile.php?do=editprofile

All the best,
QRZ Forums

I hope this helps some.
I'll check back in a day or two, and thanks again for all your help.

Helmut,
Thanks for your help, very much appreciated.
I googled KN3V and and he is now K3FE Joe Polinsky. But the KN3V still shwos my name associated with it.
Whatever the case may be, I'm sure you guys can come up with a solution.

Just advise either here or through email what I need to do and when.

I'm patient, no rush, I know you are volunteers and contribute a lot to this system.

Hello Karl,

I'm just home now and sorry but I'm late to reply you.
I understand you still have the problem.

Also you can send an email and explain your ploblem to editor@qrz.com
This might be also better way for the solution.

Kaz, Helmut,
Thanks for your help. It looks like the kb3jkg account is gone and I can log into the kn3v account.
Also thanks to the admins for straightening this out. Much appreciated.
73s everyone and keep up the good work.

Karl,

I had to delete your new KN3V log in and go to your old callsign and change it. This way your join date and post count should not change.
