A raft of new polls suggests that Democrat Barack Obama begins the general-election campaign with an upper hand in the upper Midwest, home to the nation's most concentrated collection of battleground states.

In Wisconsin, decided by four-tenths of a percentage point for Democrat John Kerry in 2004, Obama leads Republican John McCain 52% to 39% in a Quinnipiac University poll of 1,537 likely voters taken June 17 to Tuesday.

In Minnesota, decided by 3.5 percentage points for Kerry, Obama leads McCain 54% to 37% in a survey that the same pollster released Thursday.

The Wisconsin poll was the second in two weeks to show Obama with a 13-point lead over McCain. Another recent survey put Obama’s lead at nine points.

The Democratic Party is cashing in on years of neokon lies. Say something to the people Jethro. We all like a puppet show.

What Republic Party? (http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=766575)

Most reputable polls put the race within or very close to their margin of error!? :D

Truth just sucks in your world, doesn't it now?

Predictable. I still have you blocked. No, I'm not reading you, I don't have to. You can't stay on the message so instead you attack the messenger. The story is there, it is linked to and it shows a reputable pollster and his results. God, are you predictable. I don't even have to read you.

Nothing like a convenient fool. C'ya slappy.

Nope. Most reputable polls show a moe of +/- 3 but a lead for Obama of 6+.

At the moment, only one of Gallup's polls show the race as a tie.

This, of course, will change as the election draws near.

Right now, my swag is Obama will beat McCain in the popular vote by 55/45, perhaps a bit more, and will win handily in the electoral college.

News to me that Obama is leading..

CNN reviewed all the polls just yesterday and concluded that when you throw out all the polls that are known to feature left wing or right wing bias in their reporting and some lesser known polls that are making the news lately but have unknown origins and links, that the national numbers indicate a very close race at this time.

As has been reported many times, some networks have become so biased in this election that they've earned the title as "Obama Central" now among their piers.

If McCain uses the words "Stay the Course" at all during the campaign you can make that 60/40 :)

He already did once in the primaries and everyone was all over it. Stay THIS course we're on NOW?!?

If you don't know why you care, I certainly don't, but you've made it pretty clear that you do care.

Rasmussen Reports
Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
Saturday, June 28, 2008

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Barack Obama attracting 47% of the vote while John McCain earns 40%. When "leaners" are included, Obama leads 49% to 44%. Three percent (3%) say they will vote for a third-party option while 5% remain undecided. Tracking poll results are updated at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time each day (see recent daily results and recent demographic highlights).

Each Saturday, Rasmussen Reports takes a look at what voters told us in key polls over the past week. This week’s topics include Supreme Court rulings, gas prices, and whether the United States is still a land of opportunity in these troubled economic times. Please sign up for the Rasmussen Reports daily e-mail update and stay up to date with the latest public opinion news.

Recent state-by-state Presidential polling has been released for Texas, Kentucky and Mississippi. Additional state polling data will be released over the weekend. The Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator shows Obama leading in states with 200 Electoral College votes while McCain leads in states with 174 votes. When leaners are included, it’s Obama 284, McCain 240.

Obama is viewed favorably by 55% of voters, McCain by 54%. Their negative reviews are also very similar—43% for Obama and 44% for McCain. Opinions continue to be much more strongly held about Obama than McCain--32% have a Very Favorable opinion of Obama while 27% have a Very Unfavorable view. For McCain, those numbers are 17% Very Favorable and 19% Very Unfavorable (see recent daily favorables).

Most public polling continues to suggest a close race between Obama and McCain, a couple of recent polls have shown the Democrat with a double-digit lead. Scott Rasmussen takes a look at why these polls are different and at the polling-industry disagreement about how to treat partisan identification in a poll.

NH needs to meet reality once in awhile... :D

Then again, time may show that people are getting sicker of the status quo. The way food and gas are going up, that is more than likely. The way boys are coming back home in boxes, that is more than likely. Wait until those radiator blood 4-landers are turning blue this October and November when oil prices are reaching for the stars. They'll likely vote blue too.

Guess again NYC Gumpster! Hydroelectric dams and nuke plants abound down here! Of course with all the firewood stacked here, I could go 3 years with no utility power source of any type!

Oct & Nov, it's still hot here you maroon! Dec is usually fairly comfortable. Late Jan through Feb is about it for Winter here John.

The busses & cabs may stop running in NYC when the snow gets 2-3 feet deep quickly, but the 4 land 4WD vehicles just keep going.:p

Actually NYC sanitation does a pretty good job at keeping the roads clear, and as I seem to recall, no snow falls underground where the subway is.

You're actually reading what mini-wee is saying? First they say the Earths not warming, but cooling, then they're saying it's hot in December. I'm not wasting my time. I'm going to watch Austin Powers and Jethros successful younger brother mini-me. From what those who are watching his newest movie tell me, unlike Jethro, Verne's elevator goes all the way up.

Besides, my Sunday has already been made. I got to see Jethro PWN3D by a n00bie. :D;):o:p
