View Full Version : Investigation: Justice Biased Against Liberals & Democrats
Justice Department officials blocked liberals and people with Democratic Party ties from a highly selective program that funneled young lawyers into government jobs, according to an internal investigation released Tuesday.
Esther Slater McDonald, a political appointee at the Justice Department, "wrote disparaging statements about the candidates' liberal and Democratic Party affiliations on the applications she reviewed and ... she voted to deselect candidates on that basis," said the report by Inspector General Glenn Fine. McDonald, who has left the department, refused to be interviewed for the investigation.
The report, the first official investigation to document politicization of the Justice Department during the Bush administration, is an offshoot of the larger investigation of Justice Department politics triggered by the furor over the firing of nine U.S. attorneys.

Not to fear! I'll bet Obama will fill the place with right wing Republican lawyers! John, you've really lost it to BDS (Bush Delusional Syndrome). Seek help. :)

The truth is always clouded with our dear "Mr. Nimbus" obscuring reality like he does.:D:cool:

John used to be fun to play with but he's really lost it lately. Bush holds him by the throat, it's really quite pitiful. ;)
BDS on steroids and yes I have noticed John going down hill in the last couple of months. He's got it bad, I think its terminal, stage 3. I guess he now believes the justice department has never, ever been politicized in past administration. But, this is what happens to people living in NY too long. They don't get a view of the real world via the NYT.
Time for AMR and 9XR to chime in soon with their version of BDS.

And Hillary had how many hundreds of FBI files??

Uhh...
I'm speechless. After more than fifty years of conservatives like Earl Warren, Hugo Black, Thurgood Marshall, et. al., running things in our justice/court system, one would think that some real liberals would get a chance to steer things for a bit.
The above-cited article shows no slant...nothing but objective journalism there. Everyone knows that the Justice Department since Eisenhower has selected nothing but hard-right leaning ideologues, so it's just ridiculous to expect that they would not try to achieve some balance by picking lots of liberals during a Republican presidency.
Oh, man.

The aforemention judges did not run or serve the Justice Department (JD) You seem to not understand that Justice is part of the Executive Branch while the Supreme Court is its own branch. And yes there has been a long list of liberal judges. However, it seems that pre GWB, the selection of attorneys to serve in the JD recruited the best and the brightest without regard to political leanings left or right. The selection was done by career JD personnel. The report says that changed in 2002 with political appointees put in charge of selection. I have no doubt that Rove's fingerprints are all over that change. If such bias in selecting JD attorneys existed under previous administrations of either party, why did the opposition not bring it out before? And remember this report is a result of an internal JD investigation. Go ahead, claim Bush Derangement Syndrome for the story coming out now. Any excuse to cover for actions of this abomination of a president. And how does Hillary and FBI files relate to the current story? Count on XR to drag a red herring into the thread!:D

There's nothing "red herring" about it. Funny, I recall several cases of bias being accused in the Justice Dept. in both Dem & Rep. administrations. It's not like D.C. lawyers are exactly a sterling bunch of characters anyway. Even Hillary Rodham was trying to do a little "dirty work" on the Watergate investigation.;)
It's truly amazing how inane neoKKon posts have become. It's almost as if they're here 24/7 just waiting for new posts to be put up. NeoKKons either need a job or a live in hooker. Worse yet, they are always trying so unsuccessfully and so very desparately to shift this to something Democratic. I'd say that their posts are shameless, but I don't have to.
It just seems that they are the only ones not getting that America has already left them behind like an appendectomy. It is also nice to see that their perversions aren't being ignored. Apparently there will be a lot more to come in the weeks and months ahead. I have nothing to prove. The story speaks for itself. Unlike their favorite extreme right blogs and Fox, this hasn't been made up, although since they disagree with it, they'd like to believe that.
I can't wait to see all the soaking crying towels here on election day when a black man wins the presidency.

Since it's multiple choice, I'll take the later. Though I doubt the wife would let me keep her long. :o:(
I will shed no tears should Obama ascend to the throne, he accomplished nothing in the Senate and I suspect will do likewise as President. ;)

I guess according to the neokons 75% of the American population is suffering from this "BDS" thing as they call it.
