The only thing more nuts is that, after all the mudslinging and barbs tossed back and forth up to this point by both of them.....

It probably will happen.

My thought also but the polls indicate the opposite?

From what I have heard on the Noon news in Arizona, Gov. Janet Napolitano of Arizona is probably who Obama is going to ask first. She would be a fine choice, with a proven track record as AZ's attorney general prior to her being elected AZ's governor twice.

Apparently Clinton and Obama are meeting privately right now. Do you think they are bumping uglies? :p

Should he make her his vice president? He shouldn't, and he won't.

The reasons:

The only ones who could force him to do it are party elders, and they don't like Mrs. Clinton. They're the ones who finally forced her from the race. Their antipathy was not apparent when she was inevitable. It is obvious now.

She would never be content to be vice president. She'd be plotting against him from day one. She'd put poison in his tea.

She brings Bill...

...Choosing Mrs. Clinton would make Mr. Obama look weak. No one would believe he picked her because he respected or liked her. They'd think he was appeasing her. This is not something he can afford! And in any case some people cannot be appeased. Voters would assume she and her people did their voodoo—I have 18 million voters!—and he fell for it. She doesn't have 18 million voters, she got 18 million votes. It is telling the way she thinks of them, as if they are working-class automatons awaiting her command...

...Also, he doesn't like her. He recoils. Just like his party.

St. Peter was at the Pearly Gates checking up on the people waiting to enter Heaven.

He asked the next one in line, 'So, who are you, and what did you do on Earth?'

The fellow said, 'I'm Barack Obama, and I was the first black to be elected president of the United States.'

St. Peter said, 'The U.S.? A black President? You gotta be kidding me! When did this happen?'

Obama said, 'About twenty minutes ago.'

Ah....politics....just gotta love it.

Back in '80, ronnie was adamant about NOT having George H. W. Bush for VP. That is, right up to the eve of VP selection at the convention in Detroit. That night, he (ronnie) did a complete about face and made the unprecedented move of going to (not calling for, which had been the protocol), to recruit him to for VP. That, in itself, brings up a bunch of interesting questions about what was really going on.

It also shows that you just "don't know what you're going to get."

How many more? Maybe we can build a concensus. If the three of us can agree on this, there might be something valid to it! :o

I would offer up the wife's mentally challenged uncle for the office, but he is a miser and those waiting for the monthly checks from the government might take offense when it stopped arriving. He's also a bit enamored with local law enforcement and has issued me several citations for traffic violations committed and threatened me with jail time if I didn't slow down. And all that aside, he's just too nice of a guy to waste in D.C. :)

Sorry, no other viable candidates come to mind. :o

That pretty much sums it up. Let's go ahead and mark this thread as done!
