Liberals are:
More likely to cheat on taxes
More likely to work an unreported job and collect unemployment simultaneously
More likely to buy stolen goods
More likely to consume a beverage while in a store and not pay for it
They are two and a half times more likely to say that they illegally download or trade music for free on the Internet
Conservative students took the issue of accounting scandals and tax evasion more seriously than their fellow liberal students
Those with a “liberal outlook” who “reject the idea of absolute truth” were more accepting of cheating at school
Liberals were more willing to “let others take the blame” for their own ethical lapses
Liberals copy a published article” and pass it off as their own
Liberals are more accepting of “cheating on an exam
The honesty gap is not a result of “bad people” becoming liberals and “good people” becoming conservatives. A more likely explanation is bad ideas. Modern liberalism is infused with idea that truth is relative. Surveys consistently show this. And if truth is relative, it also must follow that honesty is subjective.

Is this based on a single poll with the same set of criteria for determining whether one is liberal or conservative or, is it based on multiple polls and differing criteria. Or worst yet, is the criteria "self defined" and thus in variance from person to person ?
Unless determinative criteria is standardized across all such polls or integrated into a single poll I would be skeptical of any result obtained.

Maybe you should read the article. There is/was a problem with the link, but you'll see what you need to fix after you click on it (an extra "http" shows up)

OK, they are "self described". Its a very loose poll. I wouldn't take it too seriously.

This illustrates my point exactly. The poll (study) is near worthless if there is no standardization for criteria used to determine liberal and conservative. Case and point, how many people proclaim themselves "liberal" simply because they are registered democrats or conservative because they are not ?
Environmentalism is blocking energy independence ? I don;t think so. The only people blocking energy independence are the oil companies themselves.

Yeah right! That's why the oil companies keep spending millions on filing fees to drill for crude and expand refineries and people like you keep Congress refusing them on every filing.

You mean the same oil companies making fifteen pennies per gallon while state and federal taxes claim over a dollar here in CT - the state with the highest gas prices in the nation.
We can't keep paying foreign countries to drill, refine, ship prices and demand that they charge us less for it - period.
We need to use resources, or alternate resources (nuclear electricity instead of fossil fuel/natural gas generation).
But then again..... we put the polar bear on the endangered species list to protect it, right? Yeah... riiiiiggghhtt!

Don't worry about it, the oil companies are doing quite well. They'll drill here in the states when they are ready to and not a moment sooner. If you think you're going to pay less at the pumps by urging oil companies to start drilling Alaska and throughout the US you're going to be quite surprised.
