A good friend of mine dropped off the last year, or so, issues of QST and CQ for me to read (since I don't subscribe to either one right now). #In the July 2002 issue of CQ there was an article abut the 2002 Inductees to the Amateur Radio, Contest, and DX halls of fame. #The 2002 Amateur Radio Hall of Fame included 44 persons, all but 2 of whom are/were licensed amateurs who have contributed to the advancement of amateur radio. #This was the second year of the halls of fame.

The nomination period for the 2003 halls of fame opens on 1 January 2003. #So, it is now time for people to start thinking about just who they want to nominate.

The criteria for nomination is as follows:

1. #Those individuals, whether licensed hams or not, who have made significant contributions to amateur radio.

2. #Those amateurs who have made significant contributions either to amateur radio, to their professional careers, or to some other aspect of life on our planet.

The 2002 article also included the following text:

"We will be inducting another "class" to our Amateur Radio Hall of Fame next year. #If there is someone you believe should be among these members who isn't on this list (and wasn't on last year's list), nominations for the 2003 class will open on January 1, 2003, and will be accepted by mail c/o the CQ offices or by e-mail to hall-of-fame@cq-amateur-radio.com .

Criteria and procedures are different for nominations for the CQ Amateur Radio Hall of Fame, the CQ Contest Hall of Fame, and the CQ DX Hall of Fame. #Details on all three are on the CQ website at http://www.cq-amateur-radio.com ."

Anyway, you have about six weeks to think about who you might want to nominate for this honor. #If you decide to nominate someone, then please do so beginning on 1 January 2003.

It is now time for everyone to think about who they would like to nominate for this honor. Think and make wise choices.

Thanks Craig.
Doctor Wally's thread deserves somethin'.
Erected many 75m and 40m messes of wire in the year 2002. All were in different shapes, all worked. Lots of soldering, no single wire longer then 3 feet.
O yes, cannot forget this: the daily logging of illegals operating unlawfully on 10 meters, submitted to the FCC and the results ZERO. Accomplishment indeed.
Today's trend for Doctor Wally and others operating legally on 10 meters: trying 100% to enjoy 10 meters and getting the foul-mouth cussing we hams deserve from the trucking industry (driver's).

Since it is now time for the CQ "hall of fame", I thought that I would "bump" this particular subject back to the "head of the class".
