Article in the LA Times today...

'Legal Weed' is just beer, but Feds want to cap sales (http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-weed29-2008may29,0,7074292.story)

Seems that it's even illegal to "allude to marijuana use."

Sheesh!

(Oh, Hey! Another Pot thread for some comic relief. :p

Funny stuff! :D

Wonder if the FDA will get them for not having any weed in the brew formula? Well, hops looks like a weed!? :D

Actually, the hops plant is reported to be related closely enough to cannabis that the two can be successfully grafted.

This story reminds me of what happened a few years ago regarding a product of the Flying Dog brewery (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Dog_Brewery).

Road Dog Scottish Porter was the first member of our litter of ales to cross the line with the authorities. Shortly after its launch in 1995, we were told to remove it from the shelves due to the alleged use of profanity. The offending text was Ralph's inscription that simply read, 'Good Beer. No sh¡t.' We replaced the text with, 'Good Beer. No Censorship.' and with the help of the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) we fought to get the original text re-instated. In 2001 we achieved our goal and today, 'Good Beer. No sh¡t.' stands proudly as a statement of fact on all Road Dog Scottish Porter labels.

I recall another hassle over the same label 4 or 5 years ago. For a brief period, the "offending" words were airbrushed out of the label, but they soon returned.
