I have had experience with both IRLP and six metres. To tell you the truth, six metres is far superior to IRLP because it is the most challenging. Also, six metres is far superior compared to the HF bands. Why do morse when you have six metres to play with? You can talk around the world using six metres

"IRLP sucks"

Interesting, that not what your bio says, "I also love using I.R.L.P". http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

He's just too lazy to learn code and earn additional privliges. And from his earlier post that K9STH aleady took down about his opinions on CW, he will not be one of my contacts.

Hmmmm... Old Bloke VK4TAY trying to start an "International Incident" within the friendly confines of QRZ.COM? Whatsamatter, mate? You bored? Is that why you've been trolling lately? Maybe you need a hobby.

Anyway, you can stick the Osama Bin Laden junk up your arse. That's not funny here or anywhere. Understood?

G'DAY!

For TAY:

I have talked "half-way around the world" (then you start coming back on yourself!) on both CW and SSB on the 80 meter band (have only talked that far on CW using the 160 meter band). Have done it all the way through the 6 meter band. But, 6 meters doens't always open up for that kind of propagation. 10 meters is open way more often than 6 meters.

You are very lucky in the fact that the propagation on 6 meters has been very good for the past year, or two. Next, you will experience times when you can't talk more than 100 kM (about 67 miles to those in the US). I have been operating on 6 meters for well over 42 years and have seen the "ups and downs" through several sun-spot cycles.

6 meters is a band, like 10 meters, that fairly low power is very effective when the band is open. However, when the band is closed, you can't work very far at all running 1500 watts output (the maximum allowed in the US). But, even when the band is closed, it is possible to work meteor scatter using (chagrin!) CW! Once in a while you can work SSB, but well over 99 percent of the time you have to use CW on meteor scatter. Meteor scatter can extend the range to well over a thousand miles if not considerably more.

Thus, again, CW raises its "ugly" head as being the mode that "gets through" when no other mode makes it!

I kinda really like 10 meters - its probably just a tad bit less challenging then 6 actually - plus out of all the hf bands it requires a whole lot less equipment/room to actually use.

Note to Chrissy, VK4TAY:

Thank you for your e-mail harassment you sent me today, entitled "Hi Osama." I can well appreciate the fact that not everyone in the world who dislikes Americans wears a turban. So your comments here on QRZ and in my e-mail today do not surprise me much.

I would suggest that you spew your hatred elsewhere -- not in my private e-mail. Any more childish taunts from you, sent to my private e-mail, will result in a formal complaint to your ISP.

You need to grow up, little boy.

What courage it must take to taunt and harass people over the Internet from thousands of miles away. If you ever want to make pro-Osama Bin Laden remarks to my face, my address is clearly listed here on QRZ.COM and elsewhere.

'Ave at it, mate.

W3SY - Why don't you post his email address right here and we'll collectively respond to what we think of his little prank! Oh, nevermind! I just found it by looking up his callsign. Isn't the internet wonderful?

Gentleman, Gentleman, Gentleman:

Let us not lower ourselves to the level of the troll...
Ignore it, it will go away.

and SY:
If there was any kind of threat in that e-mail, I wouldn't give him the opportunity to send another... Notify his ISP...

Well, one obscenity-laced message was sent via QRZ's e-mail forwarding service, so I sent a copy of it to Glen and to Fred Lloyd. I really don't think they want their Web site used for such a purpose.

Since my last post here, he has sent FOUR more e-mails. I'd say the little boy is rather obsessed, wouldn't you? http://www.qrz.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I also plan to contact "wia.org.au," his ISP to inform them that their service is being abused by this punk.

Hopefully they will pull the plug on this little dweeb.

Out.

I believe it stands for "Internet Radio Linking Project." It's where distant repeaters are linked via the internet or even phone lines.
